Quartier

We live right in the centre of this attractive County Town, the "Casterbridge" of Thomas Hardy`s novels. Just two minutes walk to town centre shops, cafes, museum etc. Our street has lots of families and friendly neighbours. Behind our house is the Town market which is held each Wednesday and Sunday. Even though we are in the centre of town we can walk out into open countryside in 15 minutes.

5 minutes walk to main line Railway Station which runs direct to London (2hours 40 Mins, hourly) and Railway Station for Bath (Less than 2 hours) and Bristol. Stonehenge is just over an hours drive away.

The Iron Age fort "Maiden Castle" is situated on the outskirts of the town and there are several Roman sites dotted aound the area.

Dorset lies on the 'Jurassic Coast' and is listed as a World Heritage site. Local beaches include Ringstead, Burton Bradstock, Lulworth. Weymouth, a popular tourist destination with a magnificent sandy beach is a 15 minute train ride away. Adjacent to Weymouth, lies Portland harbour. Portland is set to host the sailing events for the 2012 London Olympics. There are also many other sports available on Portland including SCUBA diving, rock climbing and wind surfing.

À propos de nous
