Maison

Our home is tucked into the forest and rock cliffs with its own very private lawn overlooking an expanse of farm fields below. Most of the rooms' large windows face west to Vermont's tallest mountains and sunsets. The panoramic view extends from the Sugarbush Resort's ski trails to Vermont's most recognizable mountain - Camel's Hump. A short walk takes you to canoeing, fly fishing or swimming in the Mad River.
The master bedroom has a queen sized bed with views to both the rock garden and mountains. It has its own bathroom while the other 2 bedrooms with their twin and double beds share the other second floor bathroom. On the first floor, the large bright living room leads to the screened porch, the more enclosed den has the Hi-Def satellite TV, and the dining room includes the field stone fireplace and glass wall facing the garden cliffs. At the center of the house, the kitchen and its couch enjoy the best view of Camel's Hump. There is also a separate playroom which includes a single bed.

Quartier

Although the house is visibly isolated from neighbors (the nearest neighbor to the east is 15 miles away), it is just a 5 mile bike to the village of Waitsfield (with its wonderful farmer's market) or a 1 mile walk to the quaint village of Moretown (with its tennis courts and recreation fields). The Mad River Valley is a destination resort area with all the amenities including the Robert Trent Jones designed Golf Course and sail planes at the Sugarbush Airport. The level valley in front of out house is used by walkers and bikers while the mountains and mountain passes beyond provide more challenging terrain.
We are an easy 3 1/2 hour drive on interstate 93 and 89 from Boston's Logan International Airport (BOS) which has direct flights from Portugal. We are a 45 minute drive on the same Route 89 from one of the nicest small cities in America - Burlington. This college town is perched on a hill overlooking Lake Champlain & the Adirondack Mountains and has an almost unending amount of summertime cultural and recreational activities.

À propos de nous

We are an architect and social work couple with two (recently) grown children and one dog (who will never grow up). Our best friend's daughter is getting married in Portugal and it would be wonderful to find some kindred souls to swap houses, cars, and lifestyles. If our paths didn't overlap, my brother also lives in Moretown and he could make sure that you find everything and everyone. We speak only English but in a pinch my wife's brother could help us with Portuguese.
