Maison

Secluded, large (250m²) stone traditional QUERCY house restored and extended to in 2004, combining authentic 'old' with comfortable and easy 'new'.
5 bedrooms (4 double beds, one single) on two floors. Large (65m²) kitchen/dining/living area with wood burning stove and underfloor heating. Leading off the main room is a 'suspended' wooden terrace for eating outside and admiring sunsets and star-gazing. The terrace is beside the kitchen but also has a large plancha for healthy and easy cooking.
10mx5m swimming pool by the house, in very private and natural spot. Another outside eating area here with sheltered BBQ cooking facilities.
Other features are our new sauna (4-5 people) with hydro-massage shower, a den/TV room for the children and a 45m² vouted cellar with bar for parties !

Quartier

The house is near a small hamlet of 5 houses, and has its own private drive and is not looked upon at all. We are surrounded by oak forest, hills, valleys, vines and regularly admire deer (and sometimes boar) from the house. Many walks available without taking the car.

The nearest village is 4km away with a restaurant, grocery and bakers - open 6 or 7 days a week. Further away is Montcuq (10km) with supermarket, banks, cafés, restaurants etc. The famous mediaval down of Cahors is 25km east of us.

À propos de nous

My husband is french and self-employed in computers, and works from home - I am scottish and teach english, our holiday dates are ruled by the French school holidays. We have 2 younger children aged 10 and 13, and I have two adult daughters but who would probably not be travelling with us, unless the swap was for a large house too. We also have a very daft and adorable red setter, but she HATES travelling and would stay with friends.

Destination

Our ideal swap would be for an island property - either Scottish Isles or in Brittany. Or a lake resort in scandinavia !

We love sea and mountains. We don't like towns or crowds.

We have the possibility to move out of our house at any time of year as we have a house in a nearby village - but we can only really leave ourselves during school holidays. So not necessarily a simultaneous exchange.
