Starting at the entrance where there is room to privately park a car/moped safely just outside the flat by way of a metal sliding gate; also children can play safely here - road is a dead end. Pergola with deckchairs outside/have dining furniture which can easily be carried outside for outdoor cooking. 10 minute walk into lively town centre and marina. Supermarket a short walk away on the high road but local market 2 minutes walk from front door! Double bed in main bedroom; 2 sofas - as yet, no bed in smaller bedroom but this can change if required. Satellite TV showing D-Smart channels; wireless internet access and telephone; 4 ring gas cooker sat on top of fridge (gas bottle); open plan kitchen; bathroom has hot water heater, shower room and washing machine. Dehumidifier and fan to ease indoor heat. The peninsula has 15 villages, all very individual with their own sea/beach front. I will give lots of information on things to do but Bodrum is famous in Turkey. The Turkish consider it their holiday playspace and many own summer houses. There are so many facilities here and great shopping. Transport is fabulous - by using local dolmuses (buses) and plenty of car/mopeds for rent. I walk everywhere unless I want to visit another beach on the peninsula. Plenty of nightlife, best being Marina Yacht Club, Kedi Bar, Catmaran, Halikarnus Disco. Gumbet town has many Brits staying over summer so is really geared up for British tastes - however, Bodrum also has a Backpackers run by East London lad Aaron where you can get good food and watch football. Lots of culture in Bodrum and surroundings too - again, let me know your requirements and I can give you lots of detailed information. If you are into scuba diving or sailing, this is certainly the place for you. The marina is packed with beautiful sail boats, gulets and fishermens' boats - you want to dive or sail? It's all here in Bodrum. There are lots of websites so Google 'Bodrum' to see much more.

Quartier

This neighborhood is very Bodrum, consisting of Bodrum people mostly who are polite and friendly without being too nosy. You are only 10 minutes walk from the town centre and 8 minutes in the opposite direction takes you onto the main high road where you can catch buses all over the peninsula. A short walk away are fantastic views of the castle and bay of Bodrum. There is a supermarket up on the high road but if you do forget the little things, our corner shop is 2 minutes walk away! You are safe and secure here - there are metal rails over the windows and main front door but I only use them when I am away for the night. As my street is a dead end that means that no cars are driving up and down which makes it a little more peaceful - as Bodrum does get a little noisy in the season. About 15/20 minutes walk away on the high road is the Oasis shopping centre, food courts, boutiques, bowling, cinemas and much more - I will provide detailed information on All and Everything there is to know about this wonderful peninsula. There are plenty of British people so I can probably supply a friend for a day too.

I am a single lady who moved from London to Bodrum in 2005. I wanted to live somewhere different and my parents are from Cyprus so I already speak basic Turkish. I was fed up with the rat race in London and I have a lovely lifestyle out here now. I have a little white long haired cat called Squeak. He has a lovely personality, comes in for his food and then out again. meows to come in and out! He is independent and spends more time out than in - whether or not you want him is not essential as I can arrange for him to be looked after. I used to be a legal secretary in the City when I lived in London and my daughter and mother still live there, as well as lots of good friends. Out here, I do massage therapy to earn extra money but my lifestyle now is not about money. I love to read, am a pilates instructor so keep fit on a regular basis. I watch movies, go to the cinema and was even a radio DJ here for 3 years. I am a Londoner at heart but also have a lot of knowledge about Turkey now so please let me know your requirements and questions. I am one of those people who also likes to have a clean house - I would not even trust a cleaner to do it better than I do!! I love to cook and my boyfriend is the head chef of the Marina Yacht Club here so we enjoy competing with each other! In the summer, I will go to concerts, the ballet, the antique theatre has wonderful concerts and clubbing if I fancy a dance. I have plenty of British friends who live here too but I'm a bit of an elusive character preferring my own company! People come and go here, it's a transient community so I like to keep my Turkish friendships up to date. Sometimes, at weekends, I will go for brunch at Bitez Bay where everybody who is anybody goes to be seen and enjoy looking out to sea as well as stuffing your face. Bodrum really does have everything - I just wish I had a transporter pod so I could see my mates or transport them here for an evening - the ones in England I mean!

Destination

I need a place in London as I will temp in the city and need somewhere which is easy for trains/buses. My family lives in north London so would consider there too, eg Enfield, Edmonton, Wood Green, Finsbury Park, Highbury, Holloway etc. I do not mind looking after a pet as I am an animal lover however a dog is not possible as I will go to work every day and that is not fair to the animal although if you have a helpful neighbour then we can do it between us. I do not mind a small place so long as it is clean and not too bothered about internet/telephone as I have my own wireless laptop and a mobile for the UK. I am fairly flexible about the dates above but it would be great if somebody wanted to be here the whole time I am there. I would treat your place as I treat mine and keep it clean and use it economically. I would also be staying away sometimes at friends' places in and around London/UK. I am a very honest person and will supply you references from my old firm of lawyers in the city and other professionals who know me well. I will do my utmost best to provide anybody swapping with me with full details and information they need as well as providing basic supplies in the food cupboards and a treat or two to surprise you. I just ask for people who are like me to swap with.
