Maison

We have a 10ha property with a small tropical orchard (paw paws, mangoes, bananas, carambolas,etc) 8mins from the seaside town of Yeppoon. Our house has polished, hardwood floors and wide verandahs to enjoy the tropical breezes. A great place to relax. Our modern kitchen has all mod cons: dishwasher, microwave, large pantry and modern stove/oven, TV, all electric. the living room contains a large TV, DVD player and video player. Bathrooms are modern; one with a spa, as the house is only 7 yrs old. W.C. is separate. Our neighbours are friendly. Our property is covered in eucalypt trees, grassland and orchard. Rainforest plants abound. The house is specially designed for our climate.

Quartier

Living on a property is awesome: Australian birds( parrots, cockatoos, bustards, galahs, etc) are commonplace viewing from our verandahs. We are close to a wildlife park, 350metres away. Swapping cars is essential as public transport into town is poor, although it takes only 8 mins by car. In town one can catch a boat for the 30 min. trip to Great Keppel Island and its beautiful beaches and tropical fish. Snorkelling, beach sports and swimming are popular there and on the local beaches. Our area is bounded by rainforest in which one can hike and swim in cool, clear streams. The seaside township of Yeppoon has a population of 15-20 000. It is a coastal resort town of great beauty situated close to the Tropic of Capricorn. It is a 20 min drive from Yeppoon to the highway which takes you north to Cairns and south to Brisbane or west to Longreach and our famous outback.

À propos de nous

We are both recently retired teachers. Our interests are tennis, golf (There are a number of excellent golf courses in the local area), bushwalking, reading and travelling. We also enjoy gardening and developing our property. We only speak English so wish to swap with people from an English speaking country/region. We have 2 children who both live away from home in other parts of Queensland.

Destination

We wish to visit an English speaking area. The dates are flexible within the dates given. No specific area is wanted. We would like an exchange for a minimum of 60 days.The exchange need not be entirely simultaneous as long as our house is vacant for our return to it.
