APARTMENT: 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom Chelsea apt, one of the largest exchange apartments on offer in Manhattan. Average Manhattan home is only 1255 square feet. Ours is 1700sf + terrace. Hudson River & Empire State Building views. Newly renovated.............

BEDS: BR 1: twin bed w/new pillowtop mattress & 1 raised twin air bed.....BR 2: new Queen pillowtop Tempur-Pedic mattress.....BR 3: 1 twin bed, 1 full size mattress.....Custom sofabed in living room.... Home comfortably sleeps 5 to 7.

AMENITIES: Each room has air conditioning, central heat....In-house 24-hour maintenance staff..... Housekeeper cleans weekly.

COMMUNICATIONS: Flat screen HD TV's w/all digital premium/movie channels, Sirius satellite radio, wireless internet in all rooms, free US long distance, ideal quiet location & near everything....

FITNESS: New home gym gear includes elliptical, weights....2 blocks to riverside jog/bike paths, spas, gyms, 5 new playgrounds....

LOCATION: Chelsea is a landmarked part of central Manhattan....Under 1 mile (1.5 kilometers) from Times Square/Broadway Theaters (north); half-mile (1km) from Greenwich Village (south).....One mile to Javits Center.....

TRANSPORTATION: Bus and subway to all areas from corner....5-minute walk to Penn Station Amtrak, NJ & Long Island trains....One mile/5 minutes by subway to Port Authority (NJ/long distance buses)....1.5 mi to Grand Central (CT/upstate NY trains)....

ATTRACTIONS: Our area is the new art gallery mecca. 300 galleries/museums within 300 yards of us. Near flea markets/antique shops/boutiques/Macy's, etc....

DINING: Chelsea has been cited by gourmet and travel magazines for its amazing restaurants to suit every taste/budget. Two-minute walk to dozens of great restaurants,....

PARKS: Two blocks to Hudson River park, recreation piers (Chelsea Piers), minigolf, free kyacking, sailing, paragliding, fishing, ice skating, bowling, rock climbing, a trapeze school & new Highline Park.....

OUR BUILDING: Our building is unique in Manhattan for its private parks, gardens and playgrounds. Tennis and basketball courts, walk/jog paths, renovated playgrounds, toddler playroom, health club, pottery studio etc. Our home & Chelsea are green and quiet.

We are a married couple in our 40's traveling with our well-behaved, well-supervised son and daughter and sometimes with their grandfather....

Prefer rural homes on the water within a three-hour drive from Manhattan. We do require at least 2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms in your home....

We are extremely responsible and respectful of exchange properties. We can provide glowing references from among the 40+ home swaps we have enjoyed since 1991.

Destination

Strictly limited to school holidays: Nov 27, 2008 to Dec 1, 2008; Dec 24, 2008 to Jan 5, 2009; Feb 13 to 22, 2009; April 9 to April 20, 2009; June 26 to July 6, 2009.

The most convenient way to get here is via Penn Station a 5- to 10-minute walk from our front door (less than half a mile/under 1km). It is served by Amtrak train and AirTrain shuttles from JFK or Newark airports. Port Authority, which serves long distance and New Jersey buses, is exactly one mile from our door ( 1.5km). Grand Central Station for trains to Connecticut and New York State is 1.5 miles (2km) away.
