Maison

Large, fully remodeled turn-of-the-century house (three bedrooms, two studies, two bathrooms plus one ½ bath). Our large yard (which has many mature shade trees, several fruit trees, a stone patio off the back of the house, swing set, sand box, and a vegetable garden that will be full of ripe tomatoes, etc.)—about 1,000 square meters—is enclosed on all sides by a high stone wall.

Quartier

Located in Châtellerault, a small town (population 40,000) south of the Loire Valley, just north of Poitiers, in the Poitou region : an hour and a quarter from Paris by train, an hour drive from the Loire Valley, and two hours from the Atlantic coast. There is a forest (with a lake) in town, and a very large forest just to the south. Poitiers is famous for its Romanesque architecture and there are also many architecturally (and otherwise) interesting small villages to visit all around. There are nice places nearby for golfing, swimming, cycling, walking.

À propos de nous

We are a family of four. Jackie, 55, is a middle school English teacher (a chess player and a painter in his free time). Laurie (me), 52, is a linguist at the University of Tours. Luke, 17, and Paul, 14, are our bilingual, bicultural children.
