Maison

Large, quiet 4-room apartment with a lot of light, 105 sq. metres.

1 bedroom with a waterbed (width 1.60 m), two bed-couches (one for 2, one for 1 person(s)) in two other rooms. Bathroom with bathtub and washing machine.

The kitchen is very functional and is equipped with a fridge, dishwasher, gas stove and a sufficient supply of cooking utensils. The kitchen table seats 2-3 people, a larger table for up to 8 people is available in another room.

The apartment is on the 4th floor, no lift is available.

High speed internet access, German TV (+BBC World), stereo available.

Bikes (+ helmets, if needed) can be made available, including hints for biking in and around Berlin.

Large collections of board- and cardgames, music and books which you are welcome to use.

We are open for short-time visitors while we're there - you'd stay in one of our offices with a very comfy bedcouch and use the common rooms (living room, kitchen, bathroom) together with us.

Quartier

Kreuzberg is the old "alternative" city quarter of West-Berlin. The apartment is close to the center of "Kreuzberg 61", the Bergmannstraße, with a lot of nice pubs, restaurants and interesting shops.

The underground station "Mehringdamm" (U6/U7/buses) is 7-10 minutes by foot away.

Potsdamer Platz is about 30 mins by foot and 15 mins by bike, the same is valid for the historic city center in Mitte with the Berlin wall and Brandenburg gate. Buses and the underground also take you there easily.

The "gay quarter" Schoeneberg is close, as is Friedrichshain, where the hippest clubs are at the moment.

À propos de nous

We are a lesbian couple in our mid-thirties, academics, non-smokers. Andrea works as a desk officer in the federal environment ministry and has a small publishing company for boardgames. Karin is a psychologist.

We have been living in Berlin for 10+ years and know the city very well. A lot of our (English-speaking) friends live nearby and might be interested in showing you around. Besides, we can give you a lot of hints on what to see and where to go.

Destination

We are looking for places with a double bedroom, bathroom + usable kitchen. Internet access would be great.

Proximity of public transport is very welcome; if bikes could be made available, even better so.
