Maison

We live in a small rural community in a grape growing region. Our house is a modern, one level family home and enjoys wide bush views. Our house is very private and opens out onto a large patio and outdoor swimming pool. We have 4 adult bicycles and one child's bicycle available for use as well as a 7 seater family car. The small farm (6 acres) has ducks, chickens and sheep. Within 20 minutes drive are wild west coast beaches or alternatively, picturesque east coast beaches that are great for swimming at. The city is 20 minutes drive away, and this is set around a harbour. In the local area are vineyards, winerys and many different cafes. Within 5 minutes walk is a general store, where groceries can be purchased. A supermarket is 10km away, and this shopping centre also has clothes stores, doctors, pharmacies and movies theatres. Fresh farm produce can be bought locally at farm stores.

We have 3 children - aged 13, 11 and 5. (2 girls and a boy). Peter and I have been married for 19 years and have lived in this house for the last 8 years. We enjoy going to the beach, as well as walking in the Waitakere Ranges which are nearby. In winter, we like to curl up and read books in front of the fire or play games as a family. Visitors to our house enjoy the peace and tranquillity as well as the bush views. A small river winds around the farm, and we go kayaking and fishing in the river in the summertime.

Quartier

Riverhead is a small settlement 20 minutes drive from Auckland City. Albany is only 15minutes drive away, and is a major shopping mall with all the expected amenities. From Albany, you can catch buses going in all directions. The area is made up of small farms and some housing. People move to Riverhead for the peaceful lifestyle, as well as the convenient location. Auckland International Airport is 45 minutes away by car.

À propos de nous

Peter works for the New Zealand Fire Service and is currently Recuitment Manager for NZ. Rachel is a school teacher, and teaches at one of the local schools. Our children all attend a Christian School and love playing sport and swimming. As a family we attend a local baptist church, and help out with the childrens programme there. We speak only english as a family.

Destination

We are heading to Rome for a few days and then hope to stay near florence in the countryside. After that we are off to Toulouse and then finally to Paris for a few nights.
