Maison

Our spacious house offers the perfect place to relax. Its five bedrooms and large plot make this an ideal vacation spot for families. The house, built at an altitude of 850m, is situated in a private cul-de-sac and is surrounded by fields and mountains. It has a large lounge / dining room with a traditional open fireplace. Each room in the house has magnificent views whether this is of Lake Geneva, the snow-capped Alps or open countryside.
In summer our large terrace and balcony are perfect places for dining outdoors with stunning views across the lake towards the French town of Evian.
We have four bedrooms upstairs and one large, modern bathroom. Our fifth bedroom is on the ground floor next to a downstairs toilet and handbasin.
Our kitchen has all modern appliances including a dishwasher, stove-top, oven and microwave. We also provide full laundry facilities situated in our basement laundry room.
There is ample space for parking cars and we would consider a car exchange.
The house has an apartment below which is rented separately and this is not included.

Quartier

Although the house is situated in the countryside, we are located only 10-15 minutes from Vevey and Montreux, the Swiss Riviera. Each historic town has much to offer in terms of entertainment, music, art, culture, opportunities to exercise as well as wining and dining. The pace of life in the region is very much dictated by the seasons- skiing, kayaking, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, climbing, walking along the lake front, boating, cycling etc. There are vineyards as well as natural hot springs. The lake itself provides a wealth of leisure opportunities, including cruising the Swiss coast or across to France. Geneva is approximately an hour by car or train, the French border is roughly 30 minutes in the opposite direction, and the Italian border is a 50 minute drive; all offer pleasant day trips. In short, it is a very rich area in terms of leading a healthy outdoor lifestyle. There is one restaurant/bar within walking distance from the house. Access to the motorway is a five minute drive. A large supermarket is located 5km away.

We are an Anglo-American family with two young children. We moved to the region seven years ago due to work committments. We enjoy a variety of sporting events as well as relaxing with good food and wine and travelling. We love our home and are respectful people who promise to take good care of your property.

Destination

We are looking for a house exchange within the San Diego area during the summer 2009 so that we can visit family and friends.
