This spacious, luxurious family home is nestled in the mountains directly above Breckenridge, one of North America’s most popular ski resorts. The home features five bedrooms, including two master bedroom suites and a private loft with bunk beds. Each of the three bathrooms has a complete shower, one of which is a new steam shower. The gourmet kitchen is a cook’s dream with marble countertops and brand new appliances. The spectacular views of the surrounding mountain ranges are visible from the expansive windows throughout the light and airy floorplan. The home features a stone fireplace for cozy gatherings and a wrap-around deck with a barbecue for casual entertaining. Perfect for a family vacation with a well-stocked game center, several televisions and stereo systems and internet access.

Just five minutes from the quaint town of Breckenridge, this home sits high on a private forest site surrounded by expansive mountain views. Traffic is limited as the home is located on a quiet cul de sac. The surrounding lots are well-maintained by private homeowners and barely visible from the home’s large tree-covered lot. Hiking trails lead directly from the home to mountain vistas, an abandoned gold mine or directly into downtown Breckenridge. The gondola, which serves Breckenridge Resort’s Ski Hill 8 lifts, is a quick five-minute drive.

The town of Breckenridge attracts national and international visitors for its stunning landscape and rich cultural and recreational offerings, including 16 museums and art galleries, numerous casual and fine-dining establishments and a multitude of parks, tennis courts and skating rinks. Each summer, nearly 40 concerts are played in the town’s amphitheater.

Based on skier visits, Breckenridge was the top North American ski resort in 2006-07; it is consistently ranked as a top destination spot (listed in the top 5 ski resorts in the world by BBC, ranked #5 in TripAdvisor’s Top 10 U.S. Destination Hot Spots and #7 in SKI Magazine’s reader survey of top North American Ski Resorts). The resort’s terrain park hosts many national and international competitions and has received TransWorld SNOWboarding Magazine's Best Pipe Award in North America for three consecutive years.

Breckenridge is home to the only municipal Jack Nicklaus designed, 27-hole golf course in the world. Breckenridge Golf Club has received numerous honors and is ranked as a 4 ½ star facility by Golf Digest, which also includes it as one of the top “Upscale Places to Play.” The course is Zagat rate.

My wife and I have been enjoying this home all year round for the past 7 years. It is a meeting place for our 2 children's families, which include 2 sets of twin grandchildren. It is our second home with our primary residence located in Fort Collins, Colorado. We downhill ski, snow shoe, cross country ski, hike, fish and play golf in the mountain playground that surrounds this home. Often, we just relax in the spacious living room by the fire enjoying the unobstructed views of the moutains. We are semi-retired independent business people who now desire to travel more. We currently have two golden retrievers who enjoy the mountains as much as we do.

Destination

This home is available most of the time except the Christmas holidays and the week of July 4th. The exchange may be non-simultaneous. We are interested in being on the ocean and/or the golf course. We eventually would be interested in Europe.
