Maison

Our home is in Oakland with views of San Francisco, the Bay and bridges, about half an hour from downtown San Francisco by car or BART, and a couple of miles from the University of California at Berkeley. The Napa/Sonoma wine country is an hour away; it's two hours or so to either Carmel or Yosemite; the drive to Lake Tahoe is just over three hours. We built the house 15 years ago. It is fully equipped, with three bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. Our cars are an '04 VW Passat sedan and a 200s Ford Focus wagon.

Quartier

Quiet, established residential neighborhood of single-family homes, near shopping, transportation, and a small regional park for walking, swimming, picnicking, etc.

À propos de nous

I'm retired after 35 years in the publishing industry; Georgia is a docent at the Oakland Museum and bakes fancy little desserts and hors d'oeuvres for a catering firm, in our kitchen. Over the last 15 years we have had successful home/car exchanges to Boston, Maine, Seattle, Santa Fe, England and Paris.

Destination

As we will be traveling from 27 May to 17 Jun 2008, our home is available for any or all of that time, so the exchange need not be simultaneous. We would like to spend these 5 days in the Normandy area.
