VIRTUAL TOUR on the Neighborhood section.
It's a 3 bedroom flat. We have a bedroom with 3 beds - one that is for a child not older than 10 years old because it would be too short (160 cm) -, a single bed bedroom, and a double-bed bedroom.
2 bathrooms one with a bath and the other one with a shower.
2 balconies, one on the front and a narrow one one back side, by the kitchen. You have a 4 people table in the kitchen, that optionally you can move it into the front balcony, to have quick meals.
You have sun in the early morning and in the afternoon and evening.
We have a piano, a guitar, and a violin. Stereo player. Two computers running GNU/Linux. High speed internet, Wireless or Ethernet. One small television with a DVD.
Washer, drier and dishwasher.
Besides a car exchange, I have a park place for the car in the same apartament. It's connected by the elevator. That's very confortable if you plan to visit by car.
The flat is on old area of a ancient town that nowadays is part of Barcelona. That's the reason why the streets are narrow and there's not too many traffic. But also is very near from the main highways that comunicates with the rest of the country. Have a look on the google maps:

Quartier

Commercial street with all that you need at the most 5 minutes from home: supermarket, fruit and vegetables shops, fish shop, pharmacy, bank... busy during the day, but quiet at night. It's one way street, with wide sidewalks and trees. As examples:

- The bigest library of the city is 10 minuts walking from the house. You can borrow music (CD's), films (DVD), books in many languages and guides. Opens daily, even Sundays. It's called Can Fabra: http://www.bcn.es/canfabra/index_esp.htm

- The bigest shoping mall at 10 minuts walking from the hause. You have over 200 shops of many difent kinds. It's called "La maquinista". Virtual tour: http://www.lamaquinista.com/visita.aspx

You have the metro "Sant Andreu" L1, 5 minutes from home and it brings you into the city center(Plaça Catalunya), the old area, in less than 15 minutes. Metro opens until 24:00 during workdays and until 2:00 Fridays and Sundays. Saturday night is open all night. The metro is the best way to visit Barcelona: Sagrada Familia, Les Rambles, Parc de la ciutadella, Parc Güell, la Pedrera, Montjuïc, Tibidabo...but for me the best is the old part, specially at night: plaça del rei, plaça reial, la Catedral, Santa Maria del mar...
Don't miss festivals or festes Majors. Especially "els castellers" and "el correfoc".
You also have a train station called "Sant Andreu Comtal" 5 minuts from home. You have direct trains to the nice South coast: Sitges, Vilanova i la Geltrú, Torredembarra, Tarragona( that use to be roman city)... and to the Port Aventura Park. You also could go to north or west making train exchanges, or to airport.

I'm a high school teacher (computer science), I'm divorced and I've three children that I look after part of time: Júlia (9), Laia (7) and Nil (6).
My parents did a home exchange when I was a boy to England and I love it. Then I went as and exchange Student in Canada when I was 17. Last year we had and exchange student from France. We have a great relationship with her family. They spend their summer in the South Brittany and we would love to spend some weeks as near as we could from them. They stay at Rochefort-En-Terre, near VANNES in the golf of MORBIHAN.
In case that couldn't be possible we're open to any destination.
During the exchange maybe some people might like to visit us, specially my mother or my father.
