Maison

Our warm and sunny beach house has fantastic sea views overlooking the islands of North Auckland. We have a spacious entertaining deck with outdoor heated spa which is wonderful for relaxing in at the end of the day whilst taking in the spectacular views. Our home has been recently rennovated with new modern kitchen, stainless steel appliances, polished wooden floors, white walls and modern fixtures. The master bedroom has views over the ocean and has large built in double robe with tons of storage. The other two childrens bedrooms are fun an funky complete with bunks and my oldest son's room has a TV and Playstation. Our lounge room is bright and sunny and has a built in 42 inch Plasma TV, surround sound and DVD. All rooms have ceiling fans as our home is north facing and gets all day sun making it really warm in summer and winter. We have a large backyard, lots of room for the children to run around and a walking track next door that takes you down to the beach (about a five minute walk). The bathroom is spacious and combines a laundry and dryer. The house has a modern funky beach house feel and you certainly feel like you are on holiday living here.

Quartier

MANLY is located on the Whangaparaoa Peninsular which is approx 45 minutes north of Auckland. Manly is a thriving little beach suburb that has a variety of shops including great cafes, restaurants and local amentities like doctor, grocer, pharmacy etc. The Peninsular is home to people who love boating, fishing, scuba diving, bush walks and outdoor living. The Whangaparoa Plaza Shopping Mall is a five minute drive away. The Peninsular has a fantastic golf course, sailing clubs, surf lifesaving clubs, and excellent schools. I catch the Ferry across to Auckland for work, this takes 50 minutes each way and is a wonderful relaxing way to start and end the day. The Marina to catch the ferry into Auckland is a five minute drive away at Gulf Harbour. We also have a car available for use. The Gulf Harbour Marina has fishing charters and is close to some great fishing spots. Our home is a five minute walk from the local shops, restaurants and to Manly beach.

There are many close activities for kids - e.g. Snow Planet (indoor ski field), luge rides, thermal hot pools, action raceway, bumper boats)

À propos de nous

We are a family of four, I am a Human Resources Adviser for a large investment bank in Auckland and my husband is a Qualified Cabinetmaker who loves rennovating houses. We have two children aged 8 and 5 who are used to travelling and respecting other peoples property. We are an outdoors family who love fishing, boating and beaches. The boys are both very involved in our local surf lifesaving club so we would prefer a swap with someone located close to the beach.

Destination

We would love to make our first home exhange with a like minded family who enjoy the beach life and would like to come and try the NZ beach lifestyle. We are preferably looking to enjoy another country for up to 12 months but are open to shorter term swaps. We would also like to stay close to the city and the beach.
