Spacious three bedroom inner city Auckland detached character villa in trendy Grey Lynn.

We can swap either the dates we are away, Sept 23 2008 till Oct 19 2008 OR in the MONTH OF JAN 09 which is mid summer over here when we go away within New Zealand or at other times of the NZ school holidays in 09, as we all get the school holidays.

There are 3 bedrooms, (one double with queen size bed and inbuilt storage and 2 single rooms), a separate lounge and a large dining room, (contains a pull out sofa bed), which continues to a large kitchen. The house can sleep 6 if needed with owners permission.
The lounge contains 2 leather sofas, 3 and 2 seaters, TV/DVD/VIDEO/SKY and a computer.
An expansive deck out the back leads to the garden with fruit trees and a brick Bar B Que area for outdoor entertaining. A verandah out the front allows you to catch the evening sun.
The house area is approx 140 square meters including the deck and the house is at ground level with steps leading down to the back garden. There is one bathroom which contains the toilet, shower and bath.Offstreet parking is provided for one car.
We currently have a cat and two rabbits which roam free in the back garden. (These would be taken care of by a neighbour).

Quartier

The neighbourhood is in fashionable Grey Lynn and is within walking distance of a vast range of cafes, restaurants and bars in either Grey Lynn or on Ponsonby Road one of Auckland's premier streets. Local shops feature some of New Zealands top designers. Other nearby features are the internationally renowned Zoo, Ocean beaches and Mount Eden for stunning views over Auckland all within 15 mins car drive. Further afield the Waitakere ranges, 20 mins, provide the backdrop to the city and provide opportunity for hiking, biking, horse riding etc. Black sand surf beaches are on the other side of these ranges about 30 mins drive.
There is also the local park just down the street with a paddling pool for young kids and Bar B Qs to be used. The Point Erin outdoor pools provide swimming for older kids/adults and inner city
beaches are very close.
You can also walk to downtown Auckland (25 mins) or take a bus.
Grey Lynn is an old established location with laid back and friendly people and very close to the motorways.

I am a secondary teacher teaching Science, and my wife also works at the local primary school in the office, where our two children, 10 and 7 attend.
We enjoy sport, soccer, rugby and touch and our girls play netball and touch rugby.

Destination

We are looking for an exchange in Paris that can sleep the four of us, 2 adults and 2 children ages 10 and 7. We will be arriving in Paris on Wed 24 Sept 08 for 5 to 8 nights and then we plan to visit the Dordoyne area, Lascaux caves etc, for a week from Sept 29 approx till OCT 7.
We are also looking for an exchange for that part of the trip as well.

Our house will be available from Sept 24 till Oct 26 in 2008 OR in the month of Jan 09, which is mid summer here, as we all get the local school holidays which includes the whole month of January. We can also consider making our house available at any times within the NZ school holidays in 2009. These usually include easter, 2 weeks, a break at the start of July approx the 6th for 2 weeks and a break in late September, (spring), approx 23rd for another 2 weeks. Contact us for details.
