Maison

Our residence is a spacious two floor, fifteen year old house. It is fully equipped (swimming pool, washing and drying machines, TV, DVD, computer, high-speed Internet access). It has three bedrooms, three washrooms (two complete), a very cozy living room opening on a modern kitchen and dining room with many windows through which you can admire a private wooden backyard (many hundred year old big white pines), an office and a very large family room in the basement that can be used as an extra bedroom.

Quartier

The house is located in Gatineau (Aylmer sector), a bilingual (French-English) quiet family-oriented neighborhood about 15 minutes (15 km) of downtown Ottawa, Canada’s national capital. A few meters from the house runs the Ottawa River where you can swim, sail and canoe. A few kilometers from home, the Gatineau Park offers 350 square kilometers of great outdoor activities (swimming, hiking, cycling, canoeing and camping). The real Canadian outdoor life!

You will find grocery stores, restaurants, a marina, many golf courses and a beautiful beach at a walking or cycling distance from the house. There are also plenty of wonderful cycling paths in the area. Actually, a bike path runs a few meters from our house. The region is also known to be a paradise for golfers. Since Ottawa is Canada's capital, it offers many historic and cultural attractions. See the National Gallery, National Arts Centre, Canadian Museum of Civilisation, Parliament Hill, Byward Market,.... Historic Rideau Canal flows right through the centre of the city. Ottawa is the focal point for many summer festivals, concerts and family activities.

By car, you can be in Montreal in 2 hrs, Quebec city in 4.5 hrs, Toronto in 5 hrs and to the U.S. border in 1.5 hr.

During your stay, you will be more than welcome to use our car, canoe, bicycles, camping gear and toys.

We will provide all the information you need to be happy in and around the house.

The Destination
Open to all destinations. Please surprise us. We would especially like to visit Italy, Spain and Greece.

The People
We, Alain (47), Chantal (45), our daughter Maxime (19) and Charles (9), are non-smokers, quiet, clean, responsible and friendly. Aren't we perfect?!? Charles has a red fish in his room, but it can be kept by a friend while we are away if you prefer. Our first language is French. We also speak English fluently.
We love meeting new people from around the world.
We have already done eitgh successful exchanges in France (2), Amsterdam, California, British-Colombia, Martinique, Costa-Rica and Switzerland.
