Maison

New home located in a German village, all modern conveniences, good sized yard. The house is 2 storeys plus a a third studio floor. Full bath upstairs and 1/2 on the main floor. Master bedroom and guest room have queen size beds, double bed on the third floor.
Our location is excellent for seeing this part of Europe. We are 45 minutes from Dusseldorf Airport, 2 hrs by car or train from Amsterdam, Brussels, 4 from Paris, only 1 hour from Cologne. Aachen, home of Charlemagne and the Lindt chocolate factory is 1/2 hr away. There are many opportunities for day trips to interesting towns and villages in Germany as well as the neighbouring countries. There are many castles and quaint villages to explore. We are a 15 minute drive to the train station which will give you access to travelling the whole province for 33 euros a day for up to 5 people on the same ticket, Aachen, Dusseldorf, Cologne, Bruehl and many other places can all be seen this way. Grocery store and bakery in the village and weekly outdoor markets in neighbouring communities, well worth a visit.

Quartier

The neighbourhood is pleasant, subdivision backs onto farmers' fields. Quiet area just outside several larger communities. The neighborhood is a mixture of German, Dutch and Canadian families. A nice community to live in as well as a great home base for many adventures.

À propos de nous

We are a Canadian family living in Germany temporarily and have found this a terrific opportunity to travel around Europe. Travelling by train has been a great experience as are the cheap flights to other parts of Europe. Planning ahead is the key to that, flying to Dublin or Venice for example can be cheaper than the gas costs for a weekend trip. We do speak German so would be pleased to assist with travel needs if required.

Destination

Looking for an exchange in Fredericton , New Brunswick. Would be open to offering our house at a different date if that is more suitable. Car exchange is a possibility to be investigated.
