Maison

Two storey home with finished basement. Full living room, dining room, kitchen, family room, office with 2 computers. We are a family of 5 with three daughters and a dog who will be on a vacation separate from us (that is, not with the house!). We have a trampoline in the backyard, an air hockey game in the basement and several bicycles in the garage. We use the back yard for trampolining and barbequing, walk our dog to the local park and enjoy cooking in our spacious kitchen. The kitchen is kosher but we can make arrangements to suit your needs. Vancouver's weather is usually sunny and warm but never really hot - no air conditioning is needed. We do have fans for the occasional hot night.

Quartier

We are four blocks from a lovely local park and less to the unused railroad tracks where blackberries grow wild. A corner store which carries any items we run out of at the last minute is two blocks away. Our street is very quiet and our neighbours are wonderful! Young families, retirees and everyone in between live here. Our street holds a block party each summer - perhaps you could be here to enjoy it - meet some Vancouverites and get even more ideas how to enjoy this beautiful area. Vancouver is an astoundingly beautiful city in the summer and we are sorry to leave the beaches, mountains, forests, parks and lakes behind. You can enjoy wonderful day trips to local islands or see the big city sights including Stanley Park, Robson Street, Granville Island, art gallery, museums, theatre - everything a big city offers. Quieter times hiking, going to the beach, kayaking, renting a boat or visiting one of the many local parks are great too. Close to bus lines, local grocery store, restaurants, banks, park with picnic space and children's activities/outdoor pool. We often say - why leave Vancouver in the summer? Unfortunately for us, that is when we are able to take this trip. Fortunately for you, our home is comfortable, well situated and in one of the greatest cities in the world! (voted so)

À propos de nous

We are a two parent working couple with 3 daughters. We work in non-profit work, one of us in the Jewish community and one of us operating a small business assisting non-profits from home. Our girls are 10, 13 and 15 years old and each has their own room. We play board games and watch videos/DVDs - you are welcome to use these when you are here. High speed internet access is available too. We love reading and have lots of English books around for you to enjoy. We speak English best but love to try bits and pieces of Hebrew, French and Italian.

Destination

We are seeking a Tel Aviv trade from early July (flexible start) until July 10 and Jerusalem July 15 and on, flexible length between 5 days and 5 1/2 weeks! We are quite flexible about where we go in Israel all other times and how long we can trade for. Please be in touch and we can talk it through. We have lots of space here and enjoy hosting so our trips do not have to be simultaneous if you are a couple, for example - let's give it a try! We want to be in Israel about June 28 to August 23, 2008. We have hosted Israelis here who are happy to recommend our home and we have a number of friends in Israel who can also provide character references to help you feel comfortable allowing us to use your home.
