Maison

Our cottage is part of a Quinta in the quaint village of San Pedro de Sintra. Located below the Palacio de Pena and above the world heritage city of Sintra. On a quiet dead-end street, but next door to some fine cafes and restaurants. San Pedro is within walking distance of Sintra, but there is a bus line which connects to Cascais and Estoril on the south. Sintra has a rail station with connections to Lisbon, about 30 minutes away. There is a beautiful paved terrace and grassy lawn.
The house has a small, well equiped kitchen, and there is a dining room with separate bar area and beamed ceilings. The living room is large and airy with French doors opening out onto a second terraced area. Climb the winding stairs to the second floor bedroom which is large and airy, with two single beds. On the first floor is the Master bedroom with a full double bed. Character abounds with abundant Portugese tile,two fireplaces, beamed ceilings, many windows and wood shutters, clay tile floors throughout. Come and enjoy the peace and quiet and history to be found in this most beautiful part of Portugal.

Quartier

Our neighborhood is close to all the sights, with easy connections by car, bus, and train. Quiet walks are the item of the day in the village, visiting the world famous Sunday market in the town square, or the Church, built in 1490...before Columbus' voyage and full of beautiful blue and white tiles. Cafes and resturants are only a few yards away, and a great way to spend afternoon and evenings when not enjoying yourself on your own terrace or visiting the natural beauty and historic sites that abound all around you.
Only 20 minutes to beautiful Atlantic beaches and only minutes from mountain hikes.

À propos de nous

I am a teacher at the American School in Sintra, and my wife is the librarian. We love our home, but would like to spend about half of our summer vacation in Italy or Greece....We are off from about June 22nd to August 20th. We have adopted a Siamese cat, who likes to come in when allowed, but is equally comfortable outside.
We like gardening and have created a beautiful flower filled terrace and lawn area which is perfect for entertaining or those quiet times for two or alone.
