Maison

We're looking to swap our 3 bedroom sunny and spacious apartment which is centrally located in the center of San Francisco. To the front of the apartment are two rooms facing the street. One is a large bedroom with a twin bed, a desk and a chair which opens into a second bedroom with a queen size bed and a desk. The other room is a smaller bedroom with a desk, an easy chair and a twin bed. The rooms are south facing and bathed in sun all day. There is also a dinning kitchen, a living room, and a bathroom with a bathtub. The apartment has a washing machine, dish washer, basic cable tv and high speed cable internet (wifi). It's on the 2nd floor of a 90 year old 3 story Edwardian building. The apartment is non-smoking and fully furnished.

Quartier

We live in North Beach, the famous Italian neighborhood with cafes, restaurants, boutiques, and delicatessen stores around the corner. We are within easy walking distance to shopping, Fisherman's Wharf, the beach at Aquatic Park, down town, Chinatown and the financial district.
Our street ends in stairs and is therefore quiet even though it is right in the middle of things. When the wind is right, we can hear the seals bark from Pier 39 - a real San Francisco experience. Busses and the cable car run two blocks from us and we're a block from Lombard St, the most crooked street in the world (often depicted in guidebooks).

We are a family of 4 - I'm a lecturer in writing and rhetoric at Stanford University, my husband is a journalist and writer for Danish media, and we have two children (13 and 6) who are very used to house swaps and taking care of other people's things. My husband and I are originally from Denmark but have lived in San Francisco the past 16 years. We have travelled extensively and are in Europe for three months every summer. We have done a lot of house swaps and just got back from 3 weeks in Hawaii.
