Maison

Our home is a large single storeyed cedar house. It has a double garage. The rooms are, by New Zealand standards, furnished expensively and tastefully. We have lived here for 13 years. Again by NZ standards the house is an expensive property, with a considerable effort having gone in to developing the 850 sq metres of gardens and grounds. It is situated at the end of a private driveway and surrounded by other high quality homes. The house has been maintained in very good order.

Quartier

Situated in an exclusive suburb of Lower Hutt, 10 minutes drive from Wellington centre. Within 15 minutes walking distance of a large shopping mall, an indoor public swimming pool, movie theatres, city library, and cafes and restaurants. Wellington city is an easy commute by rail/bus. Living in central New Zealand provides an ideal location - a day’s drive to any part of our beautiful country.

My wife, Ann, and I are in education. I am 54 and Ann is 50 years of age. Ann teaches and I have recently retired from a school principal position. We have 3 children who are either at university and have recently completed their university studies. It is now time for us to see the world. Living in New Zealand means that we are a great distance from other countries and any travel does therefore necessitate some considerable time away. Apart from Australia, which we don't consider to be an overseas trip, we have only been away a few times in our 30 years of marriage. We want to experience a different place to live for a while so that we can come to understand the culture of another country.
We are very happy to correspond with anyone who may want to experience life way down here in NZ.

Destination

The exchange needs to be a simultaneous, or close to simultaneous swap. We are happy to go anywhere in the country, preferably within a short drive of a beach. The dates we have stated here are fixed as we have to coincide this big adventure of ours with Ann's teaching term.
