Maison

Our home is a modern detached dormer on ¾ acres of garden which is bordered by a wall and a fence. It has three bedrooms which can sleep 6 adults very comfortably. It is in a country setting and is very safe and secure. We are in a quite area, yet are close to wonderful neighbours. We have a home alarm system, intercom and electric gates for added security and convenience. The house was constructed in 2001, recently renovated and boasts many modern comforts.

Upstairs consists of the master bedroom which contains a king size bed and has a stylish ensuite with an electric shower along with a large second bedroom.

Downstairs holds the third bedroom which looks out onto the gardens. Off the hallway, a large family bathroom consists of a power shower, bath etc. A formal sitting room is at the front of the house which is a great place to enjoy a glass of wine or predinner drink in front of the beautiful cast iron fireplace looking out onto the gardens. You will see the horses canter past with their owners from the nearby Blazers hunt club.

The kitchen is a newly renovated open plan kitchen and dining room. It is a warm ‘French country’ style. It is extremely sunny at all times as it faces west. An archway leads to a huge family room with lovely views from panoramic windows onto the back garden. French doors open out onto a large private paved patio which has a dining table and chairs suitable for 6 people with parasol and barbeque.

The laundry room contains the washing machine and dryer. We have all of the required conveniences, including dishwasher, digital cable television, stereo, internet, computer.

We love to cook, drink wine and entertain. Feel free to experiment with one or two of our favourite cookbooks!

As we have a toddler, we will have all of the baby accessories available. We have a cot, stair gates, baby monitor, etc. Our home is very child friendly while trying not to compromise on adult comforts and style.

Our home is 2 miles from the beautiful village of Craughwell, in the West of Ireland approximately 12 miles from Galway city off the main Galway/Dublin Road. We are close to a lot of popular tourist villages including Clarinbridge, which is famous for it’s Oyster Festival, Oranmore and Athenry.
Loughrea is about 4 miles from the house on the main road. It will provide shops, restaurants, art galleries, pharmacies, etc.

Galway city can be reached directly on the main Galway road. You can savour the great night life, restaurants, craic and return to your tranquil home. Stop at Rafterys Pub in Craughwell village for a nightcap before you turn in! Visit the Merv Griffin owned Country House hotel St. Clerans for award winning dinner which was one the home of John Houston the Hollywood director.

We are at the gateway to Co. Clare, Athlone and the River Shannon for all of your sightseeing.

We are 20 minutes from Galway Airport. Shannon Airport is about 45 minutes away and we are about two hours from Dublin Airport.

I own and operate a transport service which is based in Galway city. My wife is a civil servant. We have a 14 month old son and have lived in the area for the past 10 years.

We love to travel but can no longer stay in cramped hotel rooms with our young son and love the idea of a 'home away from home'. We are pretty flexible with our dates once we can arrange flights/transport easily, would be delighted to travel most places.

We will take great respect with your property and will have it cleaned before we leave and we would like you to do the same with ours.

Destination

Our dates are flexible. We would love to visit Paris or any european capital in Spring for a short break. We would love to also visit Verona in Italy. Are open to exchanging for a short break with families thoughout Ireland also.
