Maison

Our home is open and airy with lots of windows to the generous front and back yards, and anyone can see we love to garden. The spacious family room, sun room, large kitchen and two dining areas open onto each other creating an open, free-flowing living area. The master bedroom has a queen bed and a large bath with whirlpool tub and separate shower. The other two bedrooms each have two twin beds. The hall bath has two sections: the vanity and sink area and the tub and toilet area. The large shady back yard is really another living area with deck, hot tub, patio, grill, and plenty of furniture. We love our cozy home and our friendly neighbors.
We do have high-speed internet and cable service and two televisions in the house.

Quartier

Our home sits in a quiet cul-de-sac in a small town that also happens to be a suburb of Houston, Texas. One block away is the city park with swimming pool, ball fields, tennis courts, play equipment and a community center with gameroom and gymnasium. The local public library is just blocks from our house as are two public schools, churches, city government buildings, a new medical clinic, and a first-rate day spa. Two small shopping areas are 5 minutes away by car, 15 minutes on foot. Major shopping malls are about a 30 minute drive away. A short drive in any direction will take you to major freeways which will put you in the heart of Houston in 30 minutes or on the beach at Galveston in an hour. The NASA Space Center is 30 minutes to the south. Living in Deer Park enables us to enjoy a small-town lifestyle as well all the benefits of a world-class city

À propos de nous

My husband and I are both retired, he from Total-Fina and me from teaching English at the local high school. We have raised our three children here in Deer Park and four of our grandchildren live here. Our son and his family live in Houston, and one of our daughters and her family will soon relocate in London. We both enjoy traveling and now that two of our grandsons will be living on another continent, we expect to travel a good deal more.

Destination

Since we will be staying with our daughter in London during most of our 5 weeks overseas, we do not need housing for the entire time. We did want to spend a week in Scotland or elsewhere that would give us easy access to the Northern regions of the United Kingdom. Ireland would be another choice for a week or more. The dates we would need lodging are flexible within the 5 weeks indicated.
