Maison

Our home is located next to a gentle village of 1000 inhabitants in the middle of hopfields, in 15 min in the NO of Strasbourg, European capital.
It is a contemporary home of 200 square meters , with a big wooden terrace of 40m ², big environmental garden (1500 m ²),very peaceful, with impregnable view on the ambient campaign and North Vosges mountains , games outside for the children, swimming pool.
You will find all comfort, in a bright ambience. The first floor is composed of a living room, dining room, an equipped kitchen, cellar, Toilet, buanderie and garage; the terrace and the garden are approachable of the kitchen and living room / dining room.
The first level (parents'corner) consists of 1 room (double bed), a bathroom, an office. In the second level (children' corner) there are 3 rooms (1 single bed per room),bathroom, toilet, office area.
A room with TV-DVD (1 double sofa) is in the 3 rd level.
For the sportsmen, it is possible to use our bikes ( VTT or road bikes).



Quartier

We live in a very calm street, in an Alsatian village: Wingersheim, capital of the hop, which consists of restaurants, bakery, butcheries, grocery, trade, as well as farms.
Wingersheim is located at 15 min driving in the NO of Strasbourg, European capital (European Parliament and European institutions), very nice city with his picturesque historical centre.
We are in the heart of Alsace, one of the most beautiful regions of France: big variety of landscapes: forests, plain of the Rhine, the mountains of Vosges (a lot of footpaths), small lakes, alsatian vineyard , fortified castles of Middle Ages, villages decorated with flowers in typical architecture. The region is also famous for its gastronomie (3 stars restaurants but also Winstubs in a family atmosphere) which will delight the finest mouths.
In winter, the markets of Christmas of Strasbourg and Alsatian villages will take you to the feerie of Christmas; Skiing is possible in Vosges or Black Forest (in Germany ): 1 hour driving.
The closest airport is 20 min ( Entzheim).
Germany is at 30 min (Rhine and its lowland), 1 h of the mountains of the Black Forest, less than 1 h from Europapark (2nd europeean entertaiment park ), 45 min of the thermal baths of Caracalla, 2 h from Frankfort. The Switzerland (Basel), Luxembourg, Belgium are less than 2 h of driving. Paris is at 2 h 30 in TGV train.
Numerous ballads in feet or in cycle from the house:
For the walkers, the Path in the hops in the village Wingersheim is a part of major attractions of the canton. On a path marked out by 4,5 km, you will discover in a charming landcape, the culture of the hop such as it is nowadays practised in Alsace, and you can then discover craft breweries (www.wingersheim.net).
For the bike's lovers, you can reach the cycle track (5 min in bike) which follows the channel of the Marne to Rhine and allows to link up Strasbourg, or Saverne easily in a very nice environment.




À propos de nous

Our family consists of 5 persons.
Catherine ( 43 years) teacher, Francis ( 43 years) logistician.We like cycling, walking, ski,have travelled a lot.
Romain ( 16 years) likes very much sportand practises road cycling and mountain bike; he is also fascinated by car modelisme.
Océane (13 years) loves spending her wednesdays in the horse riding club.
Hugo (10 years) plays football, and also trains for diving.
We also have a delightful kitty: Spirou.We also have 2 guiny pigs Smartie and Cookie;Theyo will not stay necessarily at home during the exchange.

We speak french, english and german

Destination

Because of school, the exchanges have to match school holidays:
rather summer holidays in july or august 2008 for 2 or 3 weeks (between 5/07/08 and 26/08/08)

Weekends according to the destinations.
