Maison

Our Colonial house was built in 1763, and sits on a little over an acre of land, with a large circular driveway on a quiet cul-de-sac street with a school's soccer fields at the end. The first floor includes a large living room with fireplace, large dining room with fireplace, large butler's pantry, very large marble floored sun room with flat screen television, kitchen with attached large mud room with half bathroom. The second floor includes 4 bedrooms, newly installed laundry room - a large master bedroom with fireplace and completely refinished bathroom/shower; smaller bedroom with fireplace; large bedroom with fully enclosed porch; and a bedroom suite including its own completely refinished bathroom/shower. There is also a separate hallway bathroom/shower, recently renovated in October 2009. Third floor includes 1 very large bedroom, 1 large completely refinished bathroom/shower, 1 smaller refinished bathroom with tub, and 4 smaller bedrooms (we use one as a computer room). There also is a second floor apartment is at the end of the house with its own entrance separate from the other living areas. All bedrooms and most rooms in the house are hard wired for cable television and internet, and the first floor and patio has wireless access. The large stone patio includes a fire pit and supply of firewood, picnic table and chairs, and the covered portion of the patio includes a ping pong table and equipment. There is a gas barbecue grill and a charcoal grill, and you are free to use our bikes. We will supply a cleaner after the end of each week. Would consider auto exchange.

Quartier

The house is 6 miles from Philadelphia International Airport, 10 miles from Center City Philadelphia and Amtrak’s 30th Street Station. It is a half mile walk or drive to the regional commuter train into Center City Philadelphia. Routes 476 and 95 are within minutes, making it very easy for day trips by train or car to New York City (90 miles), Baltimore (90 miles), or Washington DC (120 miles). Downtown Media (visitmediapa.com) is a short walk, it is a quaint town of 5,000 with too many restaurants and shops to list. A large grocery store and a drug store are within easy walking distance.

À propos de nous

We are a blended family with children ranging in age from 20 - 25. Now that all are in college and/or out of the house, we have opened our home to exchange students and have been enjoying that tremendously. We are both professionals, one attorney, one public relations executive. Our activities and hobbies include all sorts of sporting events, active involvement in the Special Olympics organization, gourmet cooking and wine and beer making.

Destination

We are looking to be somewhere warm for the Christmas holiday, Scott, Colleen and all adult children. We did this last year and decided that this is the best way to spend Christmas together. We are experienced Home Exchangers and look forward to doing it again.
