Overlooking the white sand and clear blue water of Coolangatta Beach, our beautifully appointed, fully self contained, two bedroom, two bathroom apartment has large living and dining areas, modern kitchen, two televisions with cable, CD and DVD player, washer and dryer. It has a wrap around balcony with sweeping ocean views from the kitchen, lounge room, dining room as well as both bedrooms. It is on the 10th level of a 23 level beachfront building with a large swimming pool, wading pool, spa, sauna, full size tennis court, games room, lovely gardens and bar-b-que area. Within the building complex are restaurants, cafes, cinemas and boutique shops as well as grocery stores.

Quartier

Coolangatta is in Queensland near the border of New South Wales and is famous for its fine weather and moderate climate. Coolangatta is one of the fabulous Gold Coast beaches which stretch from Surfers Paradise to the Tweed River, most of which can be seen from our balcony. Nearby are the famous surfing spots of Snapper Rocks and Duranbah, which host major surfing contests each year. Surfing lessons are available for those that are interested. There are numerous golf courses nearby and alfresco dining can be enjoyed in a wide range of restaurants with international cuisine, many specialising in fresh, local seafood. Our apartment is five minutes from the Gold Coast airport which provides easy access to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne as well as New Zealand, Japan and Asia. Within a short drive are sub-tropical rainforests and National Parks which provides great oportunity for bushwalking, picnics etc. There are shuttle buses to great shopping and factory outlets, Jupiters Casino, Dreamworld, Seaworld, Movieworld, Waterworld, the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctury and the Australian Outback Spectacular. There is good fishing on the Tweed and ocean charters are available. For the walkers and joggers there is an extensive circuit of pathways and boardwalks along the beachfront.

We are a couple in our late 40's who love to travel. Garry works in construction and design and I am an emergency nurse. As the apartment is our second home the exchanges do not have to be concurrent. We live on acreage in Greenbank which is 30 mins drive from Brisbane CBD and 45 mins from the Gold Coast, this home is also available for swap to those interested in staying in two places with different aspects of Australian living. Our four bedroom brick home in Greenbank has bushland, rainforest and lots of wildlife including possums, kangaroos and birds (see reference number 11124)

Destination

Our main hope would be to combine a few home swaps to provide a month or two in Scandinavia during the European summer of 2009. We would like to stay in different Scandinavian countries and maybe a stop over for a week somewhere between Australia & Copenhagen, but are very flexible and open to offers.
