Maison

We have a beautiful and spacious patrimonial house(1912)in Montreal, wich has been completely renovated recently and equiped with air conditioned. The exterior is in red bricks, with a surrounding large balcony. We have three bedrooms, (Possibility to sleep 6) three bathrooms. A brand new kitchen with all the commodities (2 ovens, a gaz stove, microwave, and dish washer) Internet high speed, flat screen tv and cable. We have a laundry room, with washer and dryer, a nice garden with a deluxe BBQ grill.

The car can be included in the exchange (A Honda civic air conditionned), as well as six bicycles.

Quartier

Montréal is a large bilingual (French 80% - English 20%) urban area of 3.5 M population. It is an island nested in the St-Lawrence river not far from the US border. There are numerous museums, famous restaurants with international cuisine, boutiques for great shopping and summer festivals in Montréal, like the famous Jazz Festival, the Francofolies, the international firework contest,the Just for laugh festival, etc. We are located close to major highways that go to the Laurentians(Mont-Tremblant is about one hour drive), the Eastern Townships (About one hour drive) Quebec City (About 2 and a halh hour drive) Ottawa, the National Capital of Canada, (About one hour and a half drive)Boston (About 4 and a half hours drive,Toronto (About 5 hours drive),New-York City (about 6 hours drive).

Our house is located in a interesting neighborhood of the city (Saint-Laurent) with lots of trees and public gardens, tennis, pools, and even a golf course. Nearby you will find a nice commercial street with restaurants, terraces, fine groceries and all services. The subway station is only a 5 minutes walk. Old Montreal, Downtown, trendy "Le Plateau" area, Little Italy, Chinatown, are all located about 10 minutes by car.

À propos de nous

We are a family of four. Stéphane,architect, Pascale,lawyer, Xavier, 16 years old and Christophe, 14 years old, both students. The children are used to travel and are very well behaved. We have also a yellow Lab named Florence, but she will have her own vacations.

We have experienced the home exchange five times now. We appreciate a lot this way of traveling. We meet poeple and visit the countries in a very different manner, more personalised.

We are very respectful of the others and their property and would appreciate the same from our exchangers. Please non smokers and no pets.

We speak french and english.

Destination

We are loocking to spend three weeks in late July early August in 2009 in South California.

Our exchange has to be simultaneous.
