Maison

Built to get the fantastic view to the river, this new house is large with big windows and open spaces. The kitchen is in the middle of the house, looking into the dining room from one side, and the living room from the other side, both surrounded by large windows. The kitchen has a microwave, a dishwasher, and many small appliances. There is a fireplace in the living room. A big terrace offers a quiet place to relax outdoors and admire the view, and where you can cook outside with a new BBQ. The master bedroom, with two large windows, has its own bathroom and walk-in closet. Also on the main floor, a charming full bathroom, with separated bath and shower. In the bathroom’s closet, you’ll find a new washer and dryer.

On the other floor, you’ll find another living room with another fireplace, again surrounded by large windows. There is a patio door to get outside. There are two bedrooms on this floor. One is also used as a music room with an upright piano. And of course, there is a full bathroom on this floor.

There is a TV set with cable along with DVD player and cassette player in the main living room. Also a hi-fi system in both living rooms and in the music room. There is a computer with internet but the computer is old and internet is slow.

Wooden floors in every rooms, except the bathrooms and the kitchen which have tiles.

There is a two-door garage for two cars : Toyota Camry 2001 with 120 000 km and a Focus with 27 000 km.

For sports, there are two bicycles in the garage… and you can always go for a swim in the river!

Quartier

The house is located 50 minutes from downtown Montreal. This is not a suburb, it is the countryside. That is the place you want to go to hear the peace and quiet after a busy day in Montreal. You’ll get groceries and everything you need on your way to the house. But don’t forget to get the milk or you’ll have to get back into the car and on the road for 3 km to the nearest convenient store. On the road, in winter, be careful of the reindeers.

You’ll find the house very comfortable, especially after a day of tourism in Montreal or of sports in the Laurentians. You’ll be 30 minutes away from cycling paths in the woods, or skiing in the mountains, or whatever outdoors activities you enjoy.

To top it all, you’ll admire the most beautiful sunsets from the comfort of the living room!

À propos de nous

Two years ago, we left our house in the suburbs to build our own house in the countryside. We love the house we live in, because of everything it offers but mainly because it is peaceful and the view amazes us everyday.

We're both professionals, around 50, working in Montreal, proud parents of two grown ups who are now studying abroad in graduate programs. We speak French at home, but English is no problem.

Destination

For 2008, we are looking for short visits, anywhere we can drive to. We are open to any suggestions for any destinations around! Et pourquoi pas au Québec?

For 2009, we have not made any plans yet. Any suggestions?
