Maison

We love our house, built around 1920, with two levels plus a finished basement, white walls and hardwood floors. Our large wooden deck has a Weber charcoal grill and is overlooking the small village and the sea, the Danish coastline included. We have a nature reserve across the street and numerous golf courses in the area.

The house has three bedrooms upstairs - the master bedroom included - and a finished basement with one separate bedroom and a tv-room with one bed plus a couch that can be converted into a bed. Our small office has a single bed. All levels have a sea view. We have two TV-rooms (one upstairs and one in the basement), a dining room and a living room that opens to the deck. We have plenty of books, many in English.

Our garden is large and private.

Quartier

Our village, Hittarp, has about 900 recidents and a small beach. Hittarp is located 5 kilometers north of Helsingborg, which has a small boat marina and a great white sand beach. In Helsingborg ferries are taking you to the quaint little Danish town Helsingör every 20 minutes. There's a bus stop on our street and a bus to Helsingborg every 30 minutes. From Helsingborg it's a 1 hour drive to Copenhagen (train is available, too) and an approximate 6 hour drive to Stockholm or Oslo.

We're a family of five. Thomas is an accountant and Ann-Marie is an IT project manager and our kids are Clara (20), Hedvig (18) and Marten (16). We have a vert friendly cat and a fish tank needing minimum care.

We've exchanged our home twice before and for the summer of 2012 we'd be happy to find a swap on the French riviera or in the New York area. But we're open to all offers! Preferably a place near a beach or with a pool. A car can be included in the exchange.
