Maison

Our two bedroom apartment has a modern gas kitchen, interior laundry, and sweeping harbour views from a balcony that has a BBQ. The apartment is on the top floor of a three story building. The prevailing breezes keep it cool in summer and insulation keeps it very warm in winter.

The apartment has been completely renovated over the past couple of years with a modern gas kitchen and revamped bathroom. The dining table folds out to seat six (we have had eight people). Bedrooms: Queen sized bed in main bedroom, double sofa bed in second bedroom. Internal laundry with washer and dryer.

Our apartment has fast wireless Internet connection, digital television and an exceptional sound system. And we have a Sydney tourist guide and NSW road travel book so that you can find out more about Sydney and New South Wales.

We have a 'house book' for people we exchange with. It gives details on using appliances, television and sound system. It also has suggestions for sight-seeing, what to do, where to go.

Weekly cleaning is included in the exchange as is use of our vehicle, Mecedes 200C.

Quartier

Our apartment in fashionable Balmain is minutes from ferries and buses that can whisk you to the heart of the city of Sydney in minutes, to the lower north shore and many landmarks in inner Sydney. The Opera House, theatres and other famous attractions are a 10-minute ferry ride away.

A short ferry ride also takes you to Darling Harbour and the famous Sydney Fish Markets – the biggest in the southern hemisphere.

Or you can stick around and enjoy great shopping, fine dining and a beer in one of the famous Balmain pubs or visit the markets in Balmain, Kirribilli or Glebe – all easily accessible by walking, ferry ride, bus or car.

Harbour foreshore parks are a quick stroll away as are coffee shops, restaurants and convenience stores.

Sydney is the capital of New South Wales and the largest city in Australia. Balmain is an inner city suburb on a peninsula. Our apartment has great harbour and city views.

Surf and still-water beaches are accessible in Sydney with Manly Beach a 20-minute drive – surfing, snorkelling, skin diving, harbour still water beaches and walking tracks. Bondi Beach is also very accessible via public transport or by car. The famous Bondi to Coogee Beach walk is well worth the effort. In fact, Sydney is known for it's beautiful beaches – too many to name all of them.

There are plenty of golf courses in Sydney if this is your thing.


À propos de nous

We are a married couple - Bill works at the University of New South Wales as a course development manager and Susie runs her own business, www.bold-type.com.au, a web and print publishing business specialising in print publishing, editing and building dynamic websites for small and large businesses.

Bill is also a professional musician and when not working at the university, is often playing a gig somewhere in Sydney. We are what people now refer to as 'empty nesters' as our four sons are in their 30s.

We enjoy music, swimming in the sea at Manly Beach in Sydney and skiing – we love skiing in Canada.

Destination

We are particularly interested in a house exchange in Vernon (or surrounding district) for approximately a month-long stay so that we can ski Silver Star and other local mountains.
