Maison

Please visit our Victorian home at the beachfront in New Jersey. We are looking for a late summer exchange in France (preferably due to language), Italy, or Spain. Our beach house has an indoor and outdoor porch with wicker furniture, a living room, dining room, kitchen, den and 4 bedrooms, one with a second floor porch with ocean views, lovely for reading or glass of wine. There is a gas grill and picnic table outside for dining, and there are 4 bicycles too. The town is a quaint village, developed as a retreat for the Methodist community, but today also exists as a resort for families, retirees, and New Yorkers and Jerseyites. There are hotels, shopping, and many restaurants within 2 blocks of the house. It is 1 hour to New York City, with bus and train also within walking distance. A very convenient location.

Quartier

This is a wonderful beach community with a beautiful and wide beach and boardwalk fronting the Atlantic Ocean. The neighborhood is very family-oriented and quiet. While not for people looking for wild nightlife, there is shopping and restaurants right in town and neighboring towns provide clubs, theater, music and nightlife. Our immediate neighbors do not have young children, but there are many in town and the auditorium provides youth activities during the summer (mostly with a religious theme) On Saturday nights in the summer there is classic American music in the auditorium. It is convenient to New York City as well as Atlantic City and Philadelphia.

À propos de nous

We are a family of 5, including Ron, a surgeon and Maxine a medical writer. Our oldest daughter is grown and works in public relations in New York City. Our middle daughter is a junior at Cornell University studying to be a hospital administrator and our youngest is in 8th grade. We like to travel, bike, swim, ski, listen to music and read. Three of us have or are studying french, which is why France is our first choice, but the other two have some Spanish skills. While we have never swapped homes before, we hope our first time to be a great experience and that we will continue to enjoy the world through this type of program.

Destination

Looking for 2 weeks, preferably in August but will consider early summer as well, late May to early June.
