Maison

This is a two bedroom, one bath ranch style home approximately 1000 sq. ft, including a finished basement that includes a family room, wet bar and laundry room. The house has satellite television and high speed wireless internet. The home is all electric with central airconditioning and heating. It has an attached 200 sq. ft. deck with eating area and gas grill. The rear garden is a work in progress, filled with flowers, birds, rabbits and squirrels. There is a relaxing water feature next to a gazebo covered with producing grape vines. Springfield, Illinois, the adult home of President Abraham Lincoln, is home to the Lincoln Presidential Museum, three hours south of Chicago, two hours north of St. Louis, Missouri. Minneapolis, Indianapolis, Memphis, Paducah are less than a days drive and there are several midwestern wine areas within a days travel.

Quartier

Our neighborhood is a quiet, enclave type tract subdivision, typical homes of the late 1970's. It is a wonderful place for mornin and early walks, and is an extremely safe and friendly enviorment and is far from any busy streets, yet within a two mile radius is the Illinois State Fairgounds, a mid August Event, more than 40 restrauants, two major grocery store, including a Wal-Mart.

The Arts are alive and well in Springfield. The Sangamon Auditorium at the University of Illinois at Springfield has a regular schedule of Broadway traveling shows and the local theater, The Hoogland Performance Center, showcases an excellent pool of local talent.

There is boating and swimming on Lake Springfield and canoeing on the Sangamon River.

We are middle aged couple, children all grown and gone. Me, the husband has spent over twenty years traveling the world and now I want to show my wife many of the wonderous places I have been and let her meet the wonderful people I have met and do it less as tourist. We enjoy nice wines, good books and movies. We are a semi professional couple and we pride ourselves on having a well apppointed home that is clean and comfortable.

Destination

This year, we are particularly interested in Southern Italy (Napoli or Pompeii Scavi), the Phillipine Islands, Hong Kong, South Korea or any destination in Southeast Asia. Of course, East Africa and South America seem nice, too. Oh, who am I fooling? We just want to get out and see the world.
