New (2006), spacious and open farmhouse-style home with all the ammenities: HD TV's, large kitchen, family room/dining room with cathedral ceiling, first floor master bedroom, pool, large screened porch. Upstairs has two bedrooms, bathroom w/jacuzzi and sitting room. Upper deck with view of Lewes/Rehoboth canal and the active boating and fishing community. Large circular driveway and two-car garage.

Historic homes in Lewes (pronounced "lewis" by the natives) date from 1700's with shopping, antiquing and fine dining in charming small town. Town beach is on Delaware Bay a short bike ride away,and access to state park and ocean beachs only minutes by car. 2006 BMW SUV has pass to enter park.

Baltimore and Washington, DC (2.5hr), Philadelphia (2hr), Virginia Beach (3hr). All the advantages of small town yet great sales tax free shopping.

Quartier

Extremely quiet neighborhood is on the boat canal, a short walk to the center of town. Our house is next door to one of the earliest Lewes historic homes (circa 1739) that is used occasionally by the DAR. There is direct ocean access from the canal through Roosevelt Inlet and Cape Henlopen, and tour boats and commercial fishers pass by several a day.

We especially enjoy the friendly people and atmosphere of Lewes. Gardens are very popular and walking through the neighborhoods is a delight, and people are happy to spend a few moments talking with you. Ours is a tourist-oriented community, and everyone is happy to share the joy and pride we have in our town.

Six miles south of us is the resort destination of Rehoboth Beach which is known as the nation's summer capitol because of its popularity with people of Washington, DC. The night life there is more active with lots of restaurants and bars, a vibrant boardwalk with arcades and rides

My wife and I are originally from the Washington, DC area and summered for years in Rehoboth. We moved here several years ago and now buy and rehab properties for resale or rental.

Destination

Daughter is having baby the first week of April. Looking for house, apt, condo in the Santa Barbara/Venice California area. Flexible on dates.
