Maison

Our cottage is available all the year round and has full central heating and a log burning fire.
The spacious lounge has TV, Radio, video, DVD and a CD player. The lovely wood burning fire sets the atmosphere for those cosy nights in.
The master bedroom has a four poster bed and an en suite shower room and Toilet. There is a remote control TV and a hair dryer provided.
There are two further twin bedded rooms and a familly bathroom with bath and shower facilities.
There is a well equiped kitchen/dining room which has electric cooker, washer/dryer, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, iron and ironing board.
There is a spacious enclosed courtyard garden.

Quartier

Maidenhayne Farm Cottege is situated on the outskirts of the lovely East Devon village of Musbury, which has its own Shop/Post office, Church, Garage and country Pub.

The area is designated as an "Area of outstanding natural beauty" so the cottage makes an ideal base for exploring the Jurassic Coast and the dramatic countryside of Devon, Dorset and Somerset.
Close by there are numerous footpaths to take you away from the beaten track, yet within ten minutes you can be vissiting the picturesque villages of Beer and Branscombe.Charmouth beach is famous for its fossils and Lyme Regis for the cobbled streets and the Cob that protects the ancient Harbour.
Bird watchers can visit the nature reserves at Axmouth and Budleigh Salterton to see Herons, Cormorants, Kingfishers and a wide variety of ducks and waders. Forde Abbey and Abbotsbury have beautifull tropical gardens . The Swans of Abbotsbury are world famous.

There are plenty of places to shop. Honiton, famous for its lace making and antiques and the elegance of Sidmouth are only twenty mins away, and the Cathedral city of Exeter and Taunton are about forty mins.
Fot the Younger ones Crealy or Pecorama are a must, and The Donkey Sanctuary and the Wildlife centre at Offwell are not far away.

I am Peter Cairns, and my Partner is Sue.
I qualified as an electronics engineer, but then diversified ...
I hold a comercial Pilots licence and an International yachting certificate, but in recent years we have concentrated our activities on sailing . We sailed our 55 ft Ketch back from Greece last summer.
My last 20 years of working life have been very fully engulfed with running one of the most successful Pubs in East Devon. BUT NOW WE HAVE SOLD OUT, So never mind Gap year ... Gap LIFE ...

Sue has helped me recently with our business, but before that has managed homes for Adults with learning difficulties, and for Severely disturbed children.

We plan to spend some time relaxing from the Working experiance, before we settle down .. Who knows where ? We have both been to Aus and loved it, but only I so far have been to NZ .. I loved it so much, we just might settle there ..
