There are only 10 houses in the neighborhood. Less than a 1/2 mile from convenience store. Only 5 miles away is Virginia's premier Smith Mountain Lakes's 500 miles of shoreline. After a day on the lake you can enjoy an evening of fun at Bridgewater Plaza where you can play miniature golf, and listen to live music every weekend. There are gift shops, pizza pubs, ice cream shops, arcades, restaurants and retail stores. Booker T. Washington National Monument is 12 miles away. Bedford D-Day Memorial is 8 miles away. Thomas Jefferson's homeplace "Monticello" is 35 miles away. Jerry Falwell's Thomas Road Baptist Church and Liberty University are 40 miles away.

We are Gary and Karen Burks. Gary has recently semi-retired to a low stress job in the auto parts industry. Karen has been a loan officer in banking for 20 years. Our 20 year old son is in the Marines and our 16 year old daughter is a sophomore in high school. We love to take weekend getaways and thought this would be a great way to do that. We liked the idea of staying in a local home in an establised area where we could get a better "feel" for the area and what is has to offer. We feel that we have a great location. We are only 5 minutes from the lake but far enough away to be quiet and serene. We are non-drinkers and non-smokers but we are not boring!! We love to laugh and have fun too! We are a Christian family that loves the Lord and we hope you will sense the love and peace of Christ within the walls of our home.
