Neighborhood

Nestled amongst the trees at the end of a private road, Rafuse Point offers you a beautiful place to stay on the LaHave River in Nova Scotia. Custom designed to make the most beautiful views on the tranquil location this intimate two bedroom two bathroom beach house is a dream come true. The five neigbours on the 11 acres of Rafuse Point all live in custom built homes. They are either friends or family and are there if you need them. However, they all enjoy and respect the privacy that our beautiful property provides. We have a summer guest cottage next door to our home that we can use should you prefer to do a non-simultaneous exchange.
Being only a 5 minute drive from the town Bridgewater and 60 minutes from the friendly capital city of Halifax makes Rafuse Point an excellent choice when you want to come home to a quiet retreat. Being a central location within the province makes it a perfect location for taking day trips to see other points of interest like the world famous Peggy's Cove. Several quant and historic villages like Mahone Bay, Chester and Lunenburg are within a half hour's drive. They offer fine dining and the many artisans provide for great shopping and village walks.

About Us

Laurie is retired from sales and Yvonne is a school board coordinator of programs and special education. We love to travel, especially to our beloved Hawaii. We also are avid sailors and have a 28 foot sloop that allows us to enjoy the beautiful islands and rugged coastline of Nova Scotia during the summer months.
Our two children are grown and living away from home. Our son is doing graduate work in archeology in Argentina and our daughter is married and living in Halifax. She is a business executive and is the mother of our two beautiful grandchildren. Both she and her husband have offered to help you get settled in to our home should we settle on an exchange.
We need to be in Brisbane from the end of February until mid-May as Yvonne is doing educational research in autism at several clinics and schools there during that time.

Destination

We are open to a non-simultaneous exchange depending on the time of your travel. We have a seasonal guest cottage next door which we can use if you come in the Canadian summer or fall.
