Children's room with queen bed - spacious and den/3rd bedroom 30 square meters with two singles from day bed, International satilite with Dutch [and other languages]. 40 plus Dutch childrens DVD's, Large Refrigerator with ice and filtered water on door, also mini fridge and bar in den 550 sq. feet/50 sq. meters redwood deck leading to backyard. Two car garage with a 2001 Nissan Altima [auto] and a 1997 Toyota Camry [auto]. Nice grass area in backyard. Central Heating and Air Conditioning that you will not need. Inside washer, dryer and dishwasher, speakers throughout the house for house wide music. 4.2 miles to the beach. 5 restr within 2 blocks and local shopping within walking distance. Formal living room and formal dining room, gas BBQ on brick area in backyard. Spa [presently empty due to our young child and in need of repair].
Located within 1.5 miles/2 km of the Wardlow Station on the Blue line metro.

Neighborhood

Upper middle class or higher neighborhood in "Bixby Knolls" Near private golf course [Virginia Country club]. The street lights old fashion styled lanterns, rather than modern street lights. Our tree in front is over 200 years old. The neighborhood was custom built between 1919 and 1940. 5 Restraunts within two blocks walk. Supermarket within three blocks, International market also within 3 blocks. Low Density neighborhood with average lot size 10,000 sq. feet.

About Us

Attorney US born (45) with Flemish wife (43) and daughter, age 4. World traveled. I speak English and Spanish, wife Dutch, French, English and German.

We met while I was backpacking through Europe in 1986 and fell in love and got together 7 years later. Married 13 years now. I am also a Magician [was a member of the Magic Castle for 15 years].

We go to Belgium to visit family every year and like to enroll our daughter [a dual citizen] in school at the beginning of the school year while we visit family and our daughter gets to speak Dutch with other children [she attends Dutch school on Saturday's here and speaks Dutch with her mom.]

Never done a home exchange before, willing to show prosective house traders house and neighborhood over internet with web camera walking through the house and outside.

We have good references in the US and Belgium. For example a Flemish au pair who knows the house and neighborhood from a Flemish perspective.

Would be interested in home exchanges in Flemish Brabant in the future. After 2008 we are more likely to travel to Belgium during vacation periods, as our own daughter will be in public school.

Destination

We are looking to visit family in Meise, Belgium and surrounding area. We are looking for a family/couple living in Flemish Brabant or with access to Flemish Brabant.

For this upcoming trip, we are limiting our search to within 20 minute drive of Meise or Wolvertem, although will consider farther out if no takers.

Our goal is to visit Flemish Brabant and put our daughter in school for three weeks while we visit family.
