Description

One level 2500 square ft house with 2 bedrooms, 2 bath home on a wide canal on North Padre Island, Corpus Christi, TX. The 3rd bedroom has been converted into a home office that will not be available for exchange. The bedrooms both have very comfortable king size beds. We have an air conditioned workout room with stationary bike and weight lifting center. House has a deck over the canal with boat dock for your boat. Water accesses Laguna Madre and Gulf of Mexico. We have two Ocean Kayaks for your use. Large kitchen with all amenities, 3 TVs with cable and internet. Back yard faces east so you can enjoy the afternoon shade from the covered patio and barbecue the fish that you caught during the day. Outside is landscaped with tropical palms, bouganvilleas, hibiscus and birds of paradise.

Neighborhood

North Padre Island consists of about 50% vacation homes and 50% permanent residents. The residents are generally older with many retired.

The Padre Island National Seashore is approximately 5 miles to the south encompassing 130,434 acres and is the longest remaining undeveloped stretch of barrier island in the world, and offers a wide variety of flora and fauna as well as recreation. Visit their website at http://www.nps.gov/pais/.

The city of Corpus Christi which is accross the JF Kennedy causeway has a population of about 280,000 and is famous for outdoor recreation including wind and kite surfing, world class bird watching boating and fishing. Learn about Corpus Christi at http://corpuschristi-tx-cvb.org/.

About Us

John is a retired college professor and his wife, Pat is a CPA. Therefore the house will not be available during the busy tax season. We have made many trips in the past few years to Panama and we are in the process of building a condo on the outskirts of Panama City. We are trying to learn Spanish and attended Spanish language school on our last trip there.

We love to travel and look forward to seeing more of the United States and as our Spanish improves, more of Latin America.

Destination

We are looking for areas in the United States that cool down in the evenings. Not available January through April and September - October 15th. We would also like to go back to Panama.
