Description

Large modern house with private garden. Master bedroom with private bathroom. Living room, lounge, formal dinging room, large kitchen, TV room and two good-sized bedrooms. (TV room could also double as an extra bedroom.) House is centrally located in small town that is the hub of Bainbridge Island, 35 minutes from Seattle by frequent ferry.

Neighborhood

Shops, cinema, public swimming pool and grat public library are all within walking distance, are as restaurants and several good coffee houses and bars. There are pleasant walks and the waterfront and a wooded park are within 20 minutes.

About Us

We are a professional couple with one teenage daughter. Gordon works for a bicycle organization; Francie in international health care. We enjoy the quiet of our neighborhood and its close proximity to services. We like to spend time outdoors, hiking, biking and viewing the world. We have lived on Bainbridge Island since 1993 and love its combination of small-town friendliness and convenience to the offerings of the city. We commute via the ferry into Seattle most days.

Destination

We are ideally looking for somewhere in Northern or Southern Europe that is easily reached by direct (low-cost) flight from Scotland, where our daughter will be spending part of the time with Gordon's family. We are truly open to anywhere that meets this requirement. We prefer small towns but would consider a city. Anywhere with good access to the local countryside. If 2008 does not work for you to do a simultaneous exchange, we could consider doing a non-simultaneous exchange. Contact us - perhaps we can arrange something. Note that there are now direct flights to Seattle from London, Frankfurt, Copenhagen, Amsterdam and many others with one connection in Chicago, Atlanta, New York, Newark or Denver. The Pacific Northwest is a great outdoors destination - lots of beauty, mountains and ocean beaches. Plus a real live volcano that erupted in 1980.
