Description

My apartment is a well kept 1920's one bedroom. In my home you will find a kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom and a large closet with french doors called a dressing room. This feature was popular in some older apartments. This small room currently serves as storage, though it may be a great space for a child, as I have a twin futon bed in the space. My home also has hardwood floors and offers about 700 square feet of living space. There is also on site laundry.

Neighborhood

The apartment is close to many delicious retaurants, including some award winning wine bars and fabulous Stumptown coffee. There is also a grocery store four blocks away and bus transportation at the end of my block. The location is truly convenient for any destination in Portland.

I also have a beautiful courtyard and friendly neighbors who would be happy to make a new friend, or let you be. During the summer there are often courtyard bar-b-ques with lots of great northwest brewed ale and delicious vegetables grown from my garden!

Portland is an amazing often overlooked city with great access to the mountains, the ocean and even the Oregon desert. All of these exciting adventures are within a few hours of my home. I am also near the Columbia River Gorge, which is a national scenic area. A drive through this river valley will truly make you feel as though you are in the western United States. It is breathtaking. Portland is a great town for experiencing the outdoors, great food and friendly people.

Portland has a reputation as a somewhat alternative town, surrounded by a more conservative country population. It is young and offers many hip restaurants, intimate neighborhoods, great shopping and access to the outdoors. You'll love Portland!

About Us

Currently I am an archivist at Fort Vancouver, and am also a student at Portland State University. I am interested in the history of the region, known here as the Pacific Northwest, and am interested in environmental and social justice. My home is full of books relating to these interests and are of course available for any home exchangers to read.

I am also someone who enjoys the outdoors, goes camping, fishing and spends a lot of time on the Oregon coast, which is entirely public, so you can go to any beach you'd like!

Also, I do have two cats, but they will be staying away while home exchangers stay here.

Destination

I am open to many different destinations, my travel dates are very flexible.
