Description

Large, 2400 sq ft, established home with three bedrooms and three baths. Lots of windows. My kitchen is ugly but quite functional! Lots of hard-wood floors and antiques. Comfortable beds and linens. Plenty of room to stretch out because you know everything is bigger in Texas!

Brand-new air conditioning system last year keeps everything nice and cool. Huge trees in the backyard help to keep the summer sun down too. Fort Worth is a great place to vacation and a good take off spot if you want to visit other areas.

I have to confess I am a bit of a pack-rat but am trying to reform and have been paring down quite a bit. You won't find a nice spare modern home - it's a bit more comfy and lived in. I assure you it is clean and smoke free (unless you count the 2 fireplaces).

My neighbors are all really nice & friendly. It's a nice quiet neighborhood.

Neighborhood

Centrally located with easy access to DFW International Airport - 45 min. away - shuttle service is available right to my door. The city of Dallas is approximately one hour east of Fort Worth. But you won't need Dallas - Fort Worth has lots of exciting things to do - world class museums, concert halls, old west historical sites and great honky-tonk cowboy bars if you'd like to do a bit of boot-scootin'!

Downtown is a great place to go in the evening. Lots of entertainment, live music, theatre, comedy clubs, piano bars, movies, or sport bars. Very safe & lots to do.

There are great tex-mex restaurants, best margaritas and barbque places as well as some of the finest restaurants anywhere all over the city. I love the mojito's at Gloria's a wonderful Salvadorian style restaurant! Blue Mesa has New Mexico style cuisine with the best patio & happy hour.

Just one block down the hill from my house is the trail-head to a wonderful walking/biking trail that goes through the park down along the Trinity River and winds several miles through the city. City buses run right in front of the house. You'll probably need a car as we don't have the public transportation down very well yet. You can catch a train if you want to go to Dallas. I haven't tried it but I've heard it's a great way to get there & back especially for concerts.

My neighbors are all really nice quiet. Most of us have been here for a long time. There aren't too many children on our block anymore but I would be happy to provide information on children's activities if you need them. Just let me know what sorts of things you're interested in & I can help point the way.

There are a few state parks not too far away for day trips or even overnight camping. There are lakes and hiking trails as well as rock climbing in the area.

And I haven't even mentioned the shopping opportunities!

About Us

I am a nurse. I work in an elementary school so I follow the Fort Worth ISD traditional school calendar. You can find it online if you'd like to see dates we might be able to exchange houses. Summers are a great time to do an exchange.

I have one very sweet cat but she would spend the vacation at my sister's house. I mention her in case you have a severe allergy to cats.

I love to shop and decorate. I enjoy movies and being outdoors - love to travel. With the falling value of the dollar I thought this might be a way to be able to afford to continue to travel.

I am open to travel most anywhere. I love to learn about new areas.
