Description

Our home is situated in the Resort Village of Candle Lake, in a sub-division(Island View) of up-scale homes and cabins. We have direct access to the lake with a large greenspace and beach in front. A wonderful view of the lake and abundant wildlife greets you on entering the large open area kitchen/living room area. Our home is a large hip roof style 2 story of approx. 2800 sq. ft.(1600 sq. ft-main floor) recently renovated with large windows, surrounding deck and sun room. Upstairs has 2 bdrooms and a very large play room/activity area. Water is from our own well and water system

Neighborhood

Our home is on a cul-desac of well spaced homes and is very quiet. There is access to a boat marina within 2 minutes walking distance where we keep our boat. The village proper is approx.5 minutes driving distance or 15 min. walking dist. were all services are located(mail, groceries, gas, local businesses). Candle Lake is a resort community of approx 1000 permanent residents with most residents being sesonal. It is well known for its sandy beaches, parks, walking trails.ATV trails, fishing and boating and other related summer outdoor activities. In winter it becomes a winter wonderland with approx. 250 mi of groomed trails with unlimited natural trails through the area. Visitors have snowmobiled for 5 days without using the same trails(other than connecting routes). The last 3 yrs we have had some of the best snowmobiling in Saskatchewan. As Candle Lake is a game preserve it is not unusual to see many deer, foxes and other wildlife in your front yard.

About Us

We are a retired couple(early 60's) with 4 grown children, who are now creating their own families(currently 3 grandkids!). I am a retired teacher/administrator and my wife is a semi-retired nurse, who still works on a casual basis. We both enjoy almost all outdoor activities and moved to Candle Lake in the fall of 2004. We formerly lived in Moose Jaw, SK for our working years. We like to travel but usually keep our trips to about 4 -6 wks/ yr. Our daughter is a paralympic athlete and we sometimes travel to attend her international athletic events. We have travelled to many of the western US states, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Greece, Turkey and Tahitae. We plan on travelling to Beijing for the 2008 Paralympic game in Sept as well as Tailand and SE Asia. We are open to 2 - 6 wk exchanges but no long term exchanges(2mo-12mo) as we get homesick for family and the north country!

Destination

We plan on attending the 2008 paralympic games in Beijing but are not sure when we will go as we also are going to Tailand but not sure if we will go before or after the games
