Description

I have a very comfortable one-bedroom apartment that has its own sauna. It's well furnished and equipped. The balcony overlooks a nice little playpark and picnic/barbecue area.

Neighborhood

Jyväskylä is a very attractive town in central Finland with 80,000 inhabitants. It has a vibrant town centre, but also plenty of beautiful lake and forest areas. You'll find more information at this link: http://jyväskylänseutu.fi/travel

My apartment is in a quiet suburban area about 20min from the centre by foot or 5-10 min by bike. Unfortunately I don't have a car to lend.

About Us

I am a university teacher/researcher, originally from Ireland. I've lived in Finland for nearly 10 years.

I have a very friendly, well-behaved Cavalier King Charles spaniel called Sammy. On shorter exchanges (under 14 days), I could leave him with friends. On longer exhanges, I would hope that the new resident(s) could take care of him (feeding/walking). I would be happy to look after a pet myself.

I am reliable and would have the utmost respect for your property. I would like the same in return!

Destination

I'm flexible as to time and destination, so let me know if you have a suggestion!

I like experiencing life in other countries, rather than being a tourist as such. So I'm happy to go somewhere that isn't a tourist attraction.

A long term exchange may also be possible during August/September, December/January, and summer 2009.
