Maison

Ours is a 200 year old, extremely spacious, 3 storey, renovated town house. The large sitting room, with natural-stone walls, opens through to the dining room and kitchen. There is a small walled terrace on the ground floor. On the first floor are two double bedrooms, one with two single beds and the other, the master bedroom with double bed and fitted wardrobes. This stunning room has double doors opening on to a balcony which overlooks the street. The many famous local festivals such as Devallment at Easter, Patrona in August and San Antoni in January have processions which pass below this balcony. The bathroom is decorated in rustic style and has a bath and shower. On this floor there is a small office with computer and broadband connection.
On the second floor is another, huge double bedroom (10m x 5m) with double bed, a futon which can sleep one large or two small occupants and there is even a blow up single bed for another little one. This is our 12 year old son's room, complete with treasure trove of toys and air-conditioning. There is a shower room and toilet en-suite and the washing machine is located here. The roof terrace is for serious sunbathers and evening sun-downers. We have 3 televisions which receive British terrestrial TV stations.

Quartier

Pollenca is renowned as one of the most beautiful towns in the Mediterranean. Situated in the north of Mallorca and steeped in history and tradition, Pollenca sits between the Tramuntana Mountains and the peaceful Bay of Pollenca. The many historical treasures of the town include the stunning Nostra Senora dels Angels Church in the main square (built by the Knights Templars in 1236), the 365 steps of the Puig del Calvari and the ancient Roman bridge.
Our house is situated in the Calle Roser Vell, a stone's throw from the Cloister of San Domingo and its gardens where the famous summer classical music festival is held. The monastery of the Puig de Maria can be seen from the house and a 40 minute walk to it will be rewarded by breathtaking views of the surrounding areas. Making the pilgrimage for sunrise or sunset is particularly recommended.
There are a great many restaurants in the town to choose from, offering anything from local Mallorcan cuisine to excellent Chinese, as well as many cafes and bars in which to enjoy your morning coffee and pastry. The town also boasts a famous Sunday market.
Our house is within walking distance of everything this unique Mallorcan town has to offer. The delightful beaches of the Port of Pollenca and Alcudia are a short drive away.

À propos de nous

I am an English teacher, my husband has recently started a construction company on the island and my 12 year old son attends school here. We have lived in the town for three years and very much enjoy the Mallorcan way of life which can be enjoyed here in the north of the island. We enjoy cycling, sailing, walking and socialising with friends.

Destination

We are looking for a house or flat for the three of us in the Greenwich/Blackheath area, for the last week of August, first week of September.
