Description

Our rammed earth home is comfortable and airconditioned.Situated on an elevated, two acre site, it overlooks the Indian Ocean and the port city of Geraldton. It is roomy and easy care with two glass walls in the living/dining area to maximise ocean views. Patio and verandah encourage out door meals.The main bedroom has an ensuite with spa tub.

Neighborhood

We are 10 minutes from Sunset Beach and 15 minutes from the city centre,with shopping centres much closer.Ours is a quiet area with friendly, but not intrusive, neighbours.Enjoy walking on quiet roads(with sea views and often the odd kangaroo) around the neighbourhood.
Population 35000, the Geraldton/Greenough area is often called the Wind surfing Capital as windsurfers from around the world visit every year. 400 kilometres north of Perth it is a good setting off point for visiting inland sheep stations.Visitors from all over Australia, as well as international tourists throng to our hinterland in Spring (August/September) when our famed wildflowers are in bloom.
Our city Aquarena is open all year round for indoor and outdoor swimming and there are many safe swimming beaches close by.
Whatever your interests, if you wish, we can arrange for you to meet like minded local people.Previous exchangees joined a Bridge Club,a Golf Club and the Yacht Club.Others ran with the Harriers,played Soccer and even Aussie Rules.The activities at the Seniors Centre are just too many and varied to list.
At the end of each day relax on the front patio and enjoy the sun setting over the Indian Ocean
Geraldton has a Mediterranean climate with sunny winter days and most of our winter rain falling during the night.

About Us

We are Phil and Maureen, an active,nonsmoking,retired couple in our early seventies. An ex farmer and teacher we both love visiting other parts of the world and have wonderful memories of previous exchanges in Canada, Ireland, England and within Australia.

We have family living nearby who would be willing to help you settle in and would be available if you had any queries.

If a synchronised exchange is not suitable, we are willing to arrange a non simultaneous swap. Either way,we would like to exchange cars

Although we have no pets, we would enjoy caring for yours

Destination

We are interested in a simultaneous or non simultaneous swap any where in Ireland. We are quite flexible regarding dates but we prefer to be home between October and February
