Description

The house is a two story 2700sq.ft. pile set in 1.5 acres of landscaped gardens.5mins.walk to local shop,chapel,mountains,sea,in the middle of historic Cooley,the setting for the infamous "brown bull of Cooley" saga. Midway between Dublin and Belfast (1.5 hr drive) 3.5hrs.to Galway/Donegal.5hrs.to Cork/Kilarney.The Mourne mountains are within an hours drive.The area is surrounded by a mixture of dairy,sheep and tillage farming and Dundalk is the nearest town pop.35,000 approx.The house itself is consertavily decorated and is rustic in character with a large wood burning fire,not at all fussy but very cosy.Bubble bath but no spa,however if you reilly like to pamper yourself dont dispare. top grade hotels are only 10mins. away.

Neighborhood

Mountain walks,beech walks,forest walks.This is country at its best but the largest town in Ireland is only 15mins.away and 2nd largest(Drogheda is 35mins. Carlingford with its ancient walls of king Johns 14th century castle among other ancient ruins is a very popular tourest destination and prides itself on its seafood restaurents,is only a 10min. drive.
Greenore golf club is next door to Carlingford with the Mourne mountains just across the bay exposing their splendeor and just 10mins. in the other direction is 5*****Ballymacscanlon hotel with its 18 hole course around the ancient buriel site of Proleek Dolmen.Newgrange,Melifont abbey are just a couple of the other historic attractions that are within 30miles of Lordship Hall.

About Us

I am a divorced man in my 50s,my son and daughter have flown the nest and i now live with my partner. We enjoy dancing and walking our dogs. I took early retirement and now i like to travel a little more and try to keep my garden in reasonable shape.

Destination

non-simultaneous exchange preferred.I would like to experience New York in a way that is affordable. Ideally the exchange would be with another couple,but a 3/4 exchange for1/2 would be fine so long as i knew the people were right for the house.
Being retired my life is reasonably flexable but for a visit here june to september is the best time weather wise.
