Neighborhood

We have the most amazing views of Table Mountain, Robben Island and the ocean. The sea is within walking distance. Big Bay beach is a surfers paradise. And Blouberg beach is the perfrect family set up with small restaurants overlooking the ocean and children's play areas right next to the beach.

The nearest shopping village is right next to us, literally a 5 min walk. The lifestyle shopping village offers supermarkets, restaurants and speciality stores including a chemist and post office. Small enough not to interfere with the holiday feeling of the west coast but big enough to provide you with all you need for a perfect holiday!

We are 20 minutes from Cape Town CBD and 30 minutes from the Airport. Most tourist destinations are within 20 - 30 minutes from our house whether it is the Cape Winelands or Camps Bay beach. The bigger shopping centres providing designers shops are also within 20-30 minutes reach. We are close to all major roads.

Our neighbourhood is a combination of professional young families and retired couples. Children play in the streets without worrying about speeding cars. The playground has benches where you can sit and enjoy the view over the ocean. The complex gardens are designed to incorporate the "Kaapse Fynbos" which gives it a truly West Coast feel.

About Us

We are a family of 4, Braam, Florina, Nicole (5 yrs) and our Nanny, Josie, is the fourth family member. We thrive on the excitement of finding and exploring unknown places. We have been in Cape Town for the last 3 years and have not even closely seen all it has to offer. We absolutely love the diversity you find in the Cape, sea, winelands, game, shopping, cultural experiences, theatres, arts, etc. We are keen supporters of local wines and often buy directly from the owners. Farm produce and markets are available in all major areas. But our favourite place will always be our home!

My daughter loves the sea, so we often travel to different beaches to spend the day or have a picnic. Her favourite place is a small beach on Bloubergstrand where there is a playground and secluded beach area with grass for the Moms and Dads and sand to build castles for the little ones. And most importantly the "ice cream man" always comes around!

The Cape cuisine is as diverse as its tourist attractions. Our favourite is a little Cape gourmet restaurant around the corner form our complex and literally metres from the beach which serves Cape traditional cooking like "bobotie" and sweet potato cakes and don't forget the fish especially "snoek". If you are keen on more upmarket restaurants or international cuisine, we have loads to choose from and with views to make it a memorable experience. BUT a big family favourite is the local Spur which has a Kiddies section with jumping castle and games, we can spend hours there!

The area we stay in is close to Cape Town but still gives you a coastal village feel. No heavy traffic or major shopping centres around. The focus is on family time and holistic living with a lot of families walking and exercising in the mornings and afternoons. And the family pet is a big part of the family excursions. The people on the West Coast very friendly, so do not be surpised if you hear a "Goeie more" when passing people on the beach!
