Description

Our home is situated in an old style apartment building from the late 19th century. The apartment has a cosy backyard with a small garden, sitting place (barbeque available) - shared with the neighbours.

The apartment is in the top floor (3rd floor) – and has no lift or balcony. It is 60 m2 and consists of:
- A big living- and dining room with rosette, stucco and a fire place.
- A kitchen with small table and dishwasher
- A bathroom with shower, combined washing machine & dryer
- Two small bedrooms which each has a small double bed (120 x 200 cm).
Bedroom 1 (masters bedroom) has small desk with computer and high speed internet. Bedroom 2 is used as a guest room.

Extra bed can be added.

Neighborhood

The apartment is situated in a quiet street in lower parts of wonderful Grünerløkka, a former working class area which is now one of Oslo’s best quarters for outdoor establishment, lokal designershops, small cafes and restaurants & bars. The area also have three beautiful parks (perfect for picnic & barbeque).

Nearby:
Lower Grünerløkka is just between the lovely botanic garden and the museum of painter Edvard Munch (Tøyen-area) – and Karl Johans gate (Oslo’s main pedestrian). These locations can easily be reached by foot. (10 – 15 minutes walk).

By public transport:
Two minutes walk from the apartment: Direct bus to the beach (at the Bygdøy-peninsula in Oslo fjord with Viking ship museum, Thor Heyerdahl museum and Folk museum with Stave Church)
Three minutes walk: Tram directly to the park of Gustav Vigerland “Frognerparken” - great place for picnic, tennis & swimming. Metro to great hiking areas with forest and lakes.

Oslo in winter:
Ice-skaiting, slalom, cross-country skiing & tobogganing - 20 min. by metro from city center!

About Us

We are a couple 30+, political scientists and work as civil servants. No children. We are busy, but love to travel!

Destination

We would be very interested in spending week (+-)34 (approx 8/9/10/ - 16/17/18 August in the Mediterrainian area. Countryside close to the sea would be nice, but we are open also to other suggestions. We would like to travel with my brothers family and will be six people totally (incl. two boys 4 and 7 years old ). The exchange can be non-simultaniously - since we are also spending parts of our holliday in other parts of Norway.

Weekend breaks in European cities are also intereting! (Weekend breaks can also be done non-simulatniously)
