My husband and I live in a small mexican house with a beautiful view of Lake Chapala. We live very simply. Very comfortable. No Television (we have a DVD player and discs may be rented from the Lake Chapala Society if you are a member) but we do have a phone. We do not wish to have smokers in our house at all. Air conditioners are not needed in our house as the temperature does not rise above 88 deg. F. We have lots of windows which open wide, a fan also provides extra breeze which is only needed in May.

Neighborhood

We sit on our verandah every morning of the year as we live at 5000ft so the climate is very mild. May is the hottest month, rainly season June to October, rains mostly at night. We do not need raincoats. Quiet countryside, bus at end of street. Mineral Springs 3kms away. Lots of small villages, though very dusty. Bus service to all of Mexico very good. Large Gringo community. Lake Chapala Society has English library, free lectures. Church of England, St. Andrews, Baptist church, non-denomination church all English speaking just a 40 min. bus ride. Limited Spanish necessary. Maid costs $15.00US per week. American, Canadian, British clubs available.

About Us

My husband and I are retired. Born in England and lived in Canada for over 40 years. Now living in Mexico permanently. We got married 5 years ago and now I want to introduce Michael to my family and he wants to introduce me to his family. My family lives in the Birmingham area and his sister and one brother live in Twickenham, his other brother lives in Barry S.Wales.

Destination

Prefer to stay from Derbyshire and south from Lands End to Kent. Our home is small, typical mexican, very basic, clean and a little eclectic. We are looking for the same in some small village. In Mexico we cannot let you use our car, but would appreciate renting yours if you have one.
