Description

This is a simple holiday cottage which we have renovated over the last couple of years...diner, kitchen, sitting room, 2 bedrooms both en-suite. Set on a hilltop overlooking the French Pyrenees, small garden with a BBQUE. The village is on the Chemin de compostelle.....close to garlin for shopping and not far from Eugenie les Bains. If you want wine tours, visits out to chateaux's, etc there are lots around ! wonderful walking area with wild orchids in the spring. typical french village with 2 bakeries , a shop and a hotel. The cottage is set just at the edge so is private ......has it's own little garden. It is in Les Landes, capital, Mt de Marsan, which is 40 mins. away............. Pau city to the south is only half an hour away. The mountains are just south of there.
I don't know how old the cottage is but it runs into hundreds of years. It was built on the grounds of a chateau,dating from the 13 th century.... sadly the cottage next door has fallen down but we managed to save our one.

Neighborhood

though it is at the edge of the village it is quiet and you can walk for your morning croissant and french baguette. great views on a clear day the whole way down to the pyrenees. lovely places to walk around the village and to the nearby villages. Outside the village is a lake where you can watch local wildlife or fish. Also you can B -B- Que there.

The village originates from the 13th century and out the road is a church which is even older, 11th century.

The cottage is set up behind the village church, 50 metres. the bells ring only a couple of times a day.

About Us

This village is half an hour away from us.......we have found it friendly and outgoing, though the French can be slightly reserved with strangers, it should not be seen as rude it is just the way they are, seen as good manners, saying that anyone who has stayed there have always remarked on how friendly they are, they are used to the pilgrims of the Chemin de Compostelle coming through.
